His dumb Brum excuses for the latest poor performance were starting to grate. George Kerr a safe pair of hands as caretaker manager.
Thought they'd stick with him until end of the season and then pull the trigger, though they are not threatening the playoffs or relegation spots, so as good a time as any I suppose. Strange bloke, did seem out of his depth a bit. Then again maybe there's more to it.
Not heard RH for a while, is he still on? Last time I heard him, he was rambling on about something and whilst 'rambling' he mentioned that one of the players was 'coloured'. The only surprise being there being that rather than some sort of interception and strident apology being issued, it just got ignored. Perhaps a metaphor for ....
Club Statement - Marcus Bignot FOLLOWING Grimsby Town Football Club’s return to The EFL, there remains a strong ambition to build on last season’s promotion. Therefore, it is with regret that today the Club has decided to release the current Management Team from their first team duties. The Board would like to put on record their thanks to Marcus Bignot, Michael Moore and Gary Whild for all their hard work and efforts during the last 6 months and wish them the best for their futures. http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/new...arcus-bignot-3668875.aspx#iCjZhA24vkFR4OXY.99
Done a decent job there. Ungrateful ****s. What do they expect after been out the league 6 or is it 7 years. Most if the lads I talk to are just happy to be back in the league. Sells their leading goal scorer at xmas too.
John Tondeur@JohnTondeur My understanding is that unrest in the dressing room played a major part in Bignot's sacking. #gtfc Russell Slade is the early front runner to replace him.
I don't think the January Transfer Window was open at xmas. Selling Omar Bogle in January did signal a major drop in form though.
A bit premature perhaps, to be comfortably established mid table after a considerable amount of time out of the football league is not that bad but as is often the case there are probably other contributory factors that will be revealed in due course.
It doesn't surprise me this, I have heard he is not liked in the dressing room, and listening to his interviews he is marginally better than Nigel Pearson, bores the pant off you.
