Who and why? For me Fulham were the best team to visit St James Park. Played football the right way and in Cairney had the best opposition player as well.
Yep - can't argue with that. I had the pleasure of seeing us lose to them twice. First time I was in with the Fulham fans...
Agree that Fulham were the best visitors at St James' Park. The best player that I saw was their young kid, at 16 years old, Ryan Sessegnon. He looked a pretty good player.
Fulham by a mile. Hope they go up. Would be a travesty if Huddersfield, Reading or Sheff Weds went up at they are all dogshit.
Worst team we have played this season. One of several: Rotherham, Barnsley, Huddersfield [who are dogshit], Reading, Blackburn [and we lost twice to them ffs], QPR or Notts Forest.
The team goal? Ipswich. Another side to beat us this season. Still don't get how as they were bloody awful.
Have to say while I agree Fulham deserve to go up I hope they don't. They will be much tougher opposition than any of the other 3 teams and we don't really need that next season. Plus if we have any desire to sign Cairney it obviously won't happen if they go up.
I think they will but its far from easy. Reading have really hit form again at just the right time. They have four wins from five, the loss coming to a desperate Forest who have been a real Jekyll and Hyde team. The thing is Reading look poor defensively which will suit Fulham. I agree though, I don't want them to go up. I think he's a good manager, they play good football and will probably be able to attract decent players due to the London base. That said I rate all the managers of those involved - Stam, Jokanovic, Carlos Carvahal, and Wagner have all done well. Its a worrying trend when 5 of the top managers in the Championship are foreign. Its bad enough our managers can't get a job in the PL! Some will say its indicative of a lack of quality choices at home. I think its more to do with most of these clubs now becoming owned by foreign owners! The best case scenario is probably Huddersfield going up. They don't have the same level of backing of the other 3 despite their owner not being short of a few bob. Plus they have a loan scenario to contend with. The others are loaded. Two run by the sons of billionaire thai businessmen as play things (though there have been rumours Readings owners can't afford it), Fulham owned by Shahid Khan. Fulham are probably the worst. He has already sporting interests and he is minted (8.6 Billion). Couple that with the talent already there.
Huddersfield go up they will be completely out of their depth. I can see them being whipping boys next season.
Fulham and Sessegnon. I'm hoping for a Huddersfield promotion - rooting for the plucky underdog. Added bonus that they would be likely to take up 1 space in the bottom 3 next season.
I don't understand why anyone would want the best team to go up with us. Fulham looked great but we were well below par when we played them (we did the double over Brighton but I don't think Fulham are a better team). I hope the worst team goes up and occupies one of the relegation spots for us next season whilst the best 3 teams are still down in the Championship - Fulham have the London fact so I hope it's not them that comes up as there'll be players that go there instead. All in all Sheffield Wednesday please.
Bottom three for next season - Brighton, whoever is promoted through the play offs and either Hull/ Swansea/ Crystal Palace.
The best team finishing position wise may not be the best equipped for the PL though. Fulham are the worst on position but they look the better team for the league up to me across a number of factors. Across the other 3 there is not a lot in it. The owners of Reading and Sheff Wed are random - they may have grand plans, they may not. I just think Huddersfield owners would play it safe, and having to replace 4 of your first team due to loans (although they may get the same guys back) could be tricky on a budget. Money is king in the top league sadly. To be honest I think any of the 3 would really struggle next year if in the PL. I think Fulham would actually have a chance. That is obviously not good for us.
You've missed off Sunderla... No, sorry, my mistake. Just been on the Sunderland NOT606 board and thought that after 10 years in the PL that they were still there having built a formidable PL team.
