Okay so I'm looking for some advice. I currently use an apple iPhone 5c on EE and they couldn't offer me a deal that was worth it today. I'm just about to come to the end of my contract, so I'm going to shop around for a good deal.

What are people's opinions on the best deals out there ?

I'm looking to spend around £20 per month, I use about 1GB of data, lots of texts, barely touch my minutes.
Would rather have no up front fee for the handset, but I'd be willing to pay up to £50.

I'd like to stay on the iPhone platform (simply because I'm familiar with it) but is the Samsung Galaxy any good ?

    All advice appreciated, thanks.

I've always stuck with iPhones for pretty much the same reasons, I understand them.

Currently have an iPhone 7 which is as good as all the previous ones.

Tariff wise, I'm not up with what's available in the UK now,

I went to Samsung from iPhone for about a week before I went back to iPhone.

I only have the 5s though, I hate phone dorks who bang on about how great their handset is... It's a phone pal, calm down.

Yeah same, I'm not too bothered by all the tech. I just want decent coverage, a reliable phone and not pay stupid money each month.

Oh and a decent battery life too. ****ing bugs the **** out of me when my phone runs down to 20% by midday.

I prefer Android, so probably won't be much use to you in this thread.

I also never get anything really new, as I'm a nightmare for losing/breaking phones when pissed up.

Go get a sim only deal from 3 mobile as they are good - depending on what state your old phone is in.

looking at the amount of data and texts you use you should get a Nokia 3310

It's not nowadays is it though?

It's a portable, and in many cases very powerful, mobile computer. It just happens to have a phone attached.

Look on a comparison site for best deals.
Stick with an iPhone you will regret going android.

Oneplus 3t, sim only contract for £10-15pm and you're laughing.

Over two years would be about 40% cheaper than an iPhone 7 contract.

Mobile coverage is really poor where I live to I'm pretty much limited to EE.
Looking at a deal for an iPhone 6, unlimited calls and texts, 1GB data. £17.99 per month.

I'm on unlimited so I've no idea what I use. I guess it depends how much time you use it on wifi and how much on 4G.

I tend to do the heavy data stuff when I've got wifi. As I said, the coverage down here is so patchy that it takes a ****ing age to download anything.

Why's that? I've got a Samsung Galaxy S5 and have no complaints. I pay £23 per month. You'd be lucky to get 1gb of data for that little though, I only have 500mb, but do most of the heavy jobs on wifi.

Same with the data. I used about 800mb a month as I do most of the heavy stuff on wifi. Also mobile coverage is really patchy where I live, so it's pretty much limited to browsing web pages.

TPO use the resources network and you can get 3gb data, unlimited calls and texts for £7.99 with them.

Does that iPhone 6 £17.99 require an upfront fee too?
