If morals are what you look for in a sportsman, I would suggest a different sport.
Half these players cheat on their wives, snort coccaine, and make more in a week than some do in 5 years, AND get their agents to fiddle their taxes......

It's all about character. For this reason, both Sol Campbell and John Terry go to the bottom of the list as each, in their own unique ways, are 'orrible ****s <ok>

Just seeing his name makes me react in that way, nothing to do with his abilities as a footballer.

Sueing the club that you lifted the FA Cup with for unpaid image rights whilst they are on the point of being wound up tells you all you need to know about him.

Rio and Vidic is the best partnership the league has seen closely followed by Terry and Carvalho.

Who's the next ones in the long line of successful centre halves then?

Right now from the league I'd say the following stand a good chance at being recognised as EPL greats.

    Toby Alderweireld
Cesar Azpilicueta - as a centre half and as a full back
    Vincent Kompany
    Eric Bailly
    VVD
    David Luiz
    NOT John Stones

If Azpilicueta carries on like the last few seasons then he'll work his way up. Doesn't get enough credit IMO.

Kompany definitely deserves to be mentioned alongside the greats.

Not sure about the rest, I think Alderweierled and Bailly need to win the league a few times before people can decide about them.

The Spurs fan who scored an own goal in an FA Cup Final against... Spurs! <laugh>

Superb defender. No idea why he didn't make it at our academy. Our loss, I guess.

Carvalho would be difficult to beat for me on pure all round ability. He had everything. He was ruthless, could organise, was lightning quick, great with his feet, aerially dominant. He was a dirty bastard too.

Adams though brought something else with ridiculous leadership qualities. Plus Wenger seemed to make him even better than he already was.

As has been said, for sheer class Desailly, King, Woodgate, and Ferdinand.

Currently, Alderweireld stands head and shoulders over the rest.

I think it's quite telling that the only people that have voted for JT are Chelsea fans.
