Sometimes you get players and clubs that simply fit together. And the player only seems to produce his form when at that club. I really think that's the case with Ben and Swindon Town. Hope he proves me wrong and does well at Blackburn, but if he finds himself back in Wiltshire on loan, I wouldn't be completely surprised...
I agree. He just didn't fit in with us. Makes it even more bonkers that Holloway played the likes of him, Goss and Doughty when fighting for our lives.
I must say he was terrible the times I saw him play for us. Best thing for him was a move away, he clearly didn't fit with the club (PC version); quite honestly, he wasn't good enough by far.
He clearly did not fit here and it it good for him to leave. I wish him all the best hope and I sincerely hope that he develops in his new club. No doubt when we next see him he will score a hatrick. That would be a typically QPR scenario!
Don't think our supporters done him any favours when booing him on & off the field, disgraceful & good luck to the lad, he just didn't fit in here.
Exactly why he didn't fit in, wasn't given any sort of chance by our toxic supporters. Expectations we place on these players is ridiculous.
He was a makeweight in the Luongo deal anyway to avoid them having to pay too big a sell-on fee to Spurs. He had about 50 pro appearances before coming to us, mostly playing in barely park standard football in leafy Berks before that so it was unlikely to ever work. Blackburn is a great move for him.
Until we learn to give young players and players from lower divisions a chance we will continue to see talented kids come and go without making any sort of an impact. There is no telling whether BG will go on to better things or fade into obscurity, but was he really ever given a real chance with us from the first mistake he made on the pitch?
