Daren't tell you what I've just paid for a pint of Sierra Nevada in Covent Garden!!! First pint of the day though, so it's worth it to go with a full English
A lot of people I know are snobby about 'spoons. But round here they are usually £1 a pint less than the other pubs (+ 50p off with one of the CAMRA vouchers) and the beer is usually in good nick. I can live with that.
Obviously it's not full of pretentious snobby ****s either. The Bear near us turned into a cocktail bar before Xmas. No beer just lager. Lager & two cocktails £19. Straight across the road is the Lion, always have four guest bears on between £1.90 & £2.40. Two Hobgoblin, a Pedigree & a Diet Coke £7.75 last weekend. Wether's about 50 yards away. I'll be surprised if DV8 at The Bear sees next Xmas.
I'm just bottling a couple of gallons of elderflower cider. Bit sweet for me but the young 'uns like it that way.
Only time I've ever drunk Black Velvet (the Guinness and cider version) was when I wangled a place on a HND course in the early 80s in order to get off the dole. Used to go to the snooker club on a Friday afternoon and drink BV.
I had two ice cold bottles of Thatchers Gold, and a full bottle of really good quality ice cold Italian Asti last night. This morning I needed Ibuprofen. Won't mix those ****s again. Off out to watch us beat the Scottish now........(may have to edit this later).
Alcohol dehydrates the brain, causing a hangover, the best cure for it is: drinking the equal amounts of water to pints consumed.
