The best fish and chips I have ever tasted were in Lincoln. The "Smith" family owned and ran a few chip shops in Lincoln and also a pub / restaurant about 5 miles out of town on the way to Wragby. They had a secret recipe for their batter and people would come from miles away!

See, I still don't quite get it? Maybe because of where I live and the stench (aroma?) of greasy fat pervading all corners of the town, empty polystyrene and cardboard wrapping left everywhere (often because the bins are already stuffed full by lunchtime <yikes>) and most importantly, in countries like Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, etc nobody batters and deep fries the poor blighters!
Brushed with olive oil and pan-fried or grilled, head on, tail on, surely that's how to cook and present a piece of fish? :emoticon-0112-wonde
Feel free to rescind my British passport if this post is deemed offensive to the British psyche <ok> <laugh>

They sell fish and chips, and it's in Long Stratton. They are pretty good actually.

In fairness I do like fish done in other ways. There is a curry house here in nottingham that does an absolute world of a dish with cod. Almost as good as the chip inns very fin efforts!

    Bah!

As I can't find the original 'Beer Drinkers Beware' thread, I'll post it on here.
I see Adams have a 'Samba City' brew for the Olympics, although it's 4.2%, can't say I'm a fan. <cheers>

Is there anything to it that reminds you of Brazil? Fruity or spicy at all?

Yes, it was a bit spicy with a hint of citrus.
