Transfer Rumours BBC Gossip Column

Couple of interesting transfer rumours in todays BBC Gossip Column:

Newcastle and Crystal Palace are tracking 27-year-old Burnley striker Ashley Barnes. (ESPN)

Newcastle United are set to enquire about the transfer of 26-year-old Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney. (Telegraph)

Midfielder Aaron Mooy could leave Manchester City on a permanent deal in the summer, but current loan side Huddersfield are yet to make a bid for the 26-year-old. (SBS, via Manchester Evening News)

Unfortunately there is this in the same feature that suggest it might all be bollocks:

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, but AC Milan and Real Madrid are also interested in the 27-year-old. (Don Balon - in Spanish)

Did we implement a sell on fee, like 10% of any profit made or 5% of any future fee?

If so I can fully vouch for this Sissoko lad, he's fooking class, would fit into both Real's or Barca's style of play, they should start a bidding war!

 

I suspect that Mike wouldnt have bothered with a sell-on clause. He would have assumed that nobody would be stupid enough to pay Spurs more than we ripped them off for.

I suspect Sissoko's agent correctly reported to the press that both Barca and Real had enquired about him.

He just neglected to mention that the reason for said enquiry was to find out how on Earth they'd convinced Spurs to pay £30M for him, and if he had any tips for getting Spurs to pay that kind of money in future.

 

I still think this is one of the funniest things I've seen in football:

An alternative theory is that both Barca and Real do want him - it's just that Barca want him at Real and Real want him to go to Barcelona.
