Could you live in the wild? I was watching a show called The Wheel, and thinking about whether I'd manage to survive alone in extreme places. Anybody ever hunted and survived in the wild for a few days? Is that where 83 has maybe gone? 83 in a forest, deerhunting. I reckon I could catch a slow animal, like a hedgehog and eat it if necessary.
Nope, couldn't do it, but if needs must and I was put in a situation where I had no choice, maybe I would surprise myself.
Alone Bill or part of a team exercise? I'd like to think I'd thrive in sort of mild conditions, but I might just **** myself to death, if that's possible. Anything extreme, I'd either freeze or fry to death. Inevitable death in most cases.
You're never more than 200 yards from a Tesco nowadays, it'd be far easier to survive in modern times.
In your neck of the woods every ****ing thing wants to eat you, bite you, sting you and basically kill you.
As kids we used to head off into the woods to build a den. A couple tins of beans and a pack of embassy and no-one would see us for days! Wouldn't last an afternoon now though!
Did mine on Dartmoor marra... just a couple of weeks, so not too bad! Norwegian Fjords for a couple of months with the 'Cloggies' were a killer
Did mine on North Yorkshire moors. We were based at Catterick for basic training. Went to Norway three times for cold weather training.
