Could you live in the wild?

I was watching a show called The Wheel, and thinking about whether I'd manage to survive alone in extreme places.

Anybody ever hunted and survived in the wild for a few days?

Is that where 83 has maybe gone? 83 in a forest, deerhunting.

I reckon I could catch a slow animal, like a hedgehog and eat it if necessary.

 

I have in the past.
All part of the training.
Couldn't do it now.

 

Nope, couldn't do it, but if needs must and I was put in a situation where I had no choice, maybe I would surprise myself.

Alone Bill or part of a team exercise?

I'd like to think I'd thrive in sort of mild conditions, but I might just **** myself to death, if that's possible.

Anything extreme, I'd either freeze or fry to death.

Inevitable death in most cases.

 

You'd have to fashion a way to make Stella out of rain water and one shoe.

 

Using my shoe as makeshift bivvy bag.

 

I e&e as recruits we went off in pairs.

 

You're never more than 200 yards from a Tesco nowadays, it'd be far easier to survive in modern times.

 

I camp a few times a year and am a fairly handy fisherman...

Is what my old man would say.

I'd die.

 

In your neck of the woods every ****ing thing wants to eat you, bite you, sting you and basically kill you.

 

Even the kangaroo's?

 

Especially the kangaroos.

 

Skippy was a ****. Until a git big 4x4 wiped the smug twat out.

 

As kids we used to head off into the woods to build a den. A couple tins of beans and a pack of embassy and no-one would see us for days!
Wouldn't last an afternoon now though!

 

Unless the Wild is a 4 or 5 star hotel I don't think I'd survive a night in it!

 

Did mine on Dartmoor marra... just a couple of weeks, so not too bad!
Norwegian Fjords for a couple of months with the 'Cloggies' were a killer

 

Did mine on North Yorkshire moors.
We were based at Catterick for basic training.
Went to Norway three times for cold weather training.

 

Add Cairngorms and Brecon beacons and you have the 3 ****est places in the UK.
