You are quite right, my family went, I chose not to go and regretted it since. Of the others I saw Neil Young on the Re ac tor tour, so funny when all the hippies "lit" up as he came on with the synths and vocoda tool, saw 100 hippies stop smoking that day. Bowie on the reality tour f brilliant as usual, madonna dull, talking heads sadly dull, Johnny cash was brilliant except when he introduced every relation to do a song, Dylan was surprising accomodating, even said thank you once. Tears was a freebie still a waste of money
Been away for a few days so apologies if anyone was waiting for another list! Here goes We've Got a Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It Pop Will Eat Itself Madness Lords of the New Church Howard Jones Big Audio Dynamite Meat Loaf Iggy Pop Half Man Half Biscuit PiL
Saw him at the Reading Festival where he came on, got bottled and went off, came back on and swore, got bottled off again, came back on and said he'd do Bat Out of Hell and not to throw more bottles only to see what I assumed was an almost full bottle of cider/piss fly out of the crown in a perfect arc which hit Mr Loaf square in the mush. He didn't come back on after that!
Saw them a lot when they first got going. Supported a lot of bands like Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Lead singer still looks gorgeous!
What a tedious gig it was, some sort of Amnesty festival and it was as interesting as watching grass grow.
First saw them wearing Russian military great coats and furry hats around the Sick Little Girl era, way before they got all hippity-hoppity but saw them loads after that too. They re-formed for a half and half gig at the Shepherd's Bush Empire a couple of years ago and did one set of the grungey pop stuff and then another set with the later dance influenced material like Bulletproof, Def Con One. Pure class.
