London-based American Short wants to hand over the relegated club and could pull off his exit in the next couple of weeks. please log in to view this image 1 Ellis Short is on the verge of selling Sunderland for £100million Short has been seeking buyers for around a year and that process speeded up after the Black Cats dropped out of the Premier League. Keep up to date with all the latest news, gossip, rumors and done deals in SunSport’s live transfer blog The cost of the club is over £100 million and Short wants the money up front if possible. However Short may settle for selling a chunk and having a bonus if Sunderland get back to the Premier League. The club face a massive summer as they prepare for life back in the Championship. They need a new manager after David Moyes quit after a disastrous campaign on Wearside. Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is the favourite to take over in the dug-out. However, the Scot is wary about making the move to the Stadium of Light. He wants reassurances over the transfer budget available to him to transform Sunderland’s squad. McInnes is still interested in speaking the Black Cats, so he can make a more informed decision about the vacancy. The 45-year-old coach was linked with a move to England a few years ago, when he was in the mix for the West Brom job, while in charge at St Johnstone.
I honestly can't see him selling at that price, he's invested way more than that during his tenure and will no doubt try to recover his investment.
Seems low on details, not sure how much to believe it. If we are selling then is it going to affect signing a manager? We'd be a lot more appealing to someone if we had money to spend. I'd be surprised however if our skintness put McInnes off I don't think he's ever had much transfer money.
Lets hope this mystery consortium are wanting to take us back up to the premier as an achieving team and not as a feeder club for one of the top German teams. I hope this is not another delaying development as we attempt to regain some stability at the club. Hull have appointed a manager and Boro have virtually got Monk - our pre season is almost here and we are floundering around. We rarely do things the easy way so I'm not too dismayed. Hopefully we get a clear picture by Monday. Oohh and Moyes has a £30,000 fine - hope we don't end up paying that
More than likely. The Germans are renowned for their efficiency. They`ll have a right job on sorting out our shambles.
Now hey. I went on that ****hole site so you don't have to. You won't catch me posting links to make them money. I've pasted it down so nobody even never click on a Sun link. I'm a modern day hero ya nar.
He wanted 200 million didn't he? We paid 30m off that debt with the last financial results. Presuming we've paid another 30 of this summer brings it down to 140million. Plus parachute payments for first season is 48m so expect a 52m drop in value of the club first year with the relegation because that's the prize money reduction. Sounds like it's getting close to the right figuer imo. Provided Short is happy to not make profit and get his money back. I think around 120-130m should secure the club.
Maybe Franz beckenbaur (spelling) will come in and really change our club round, get back up take the capacity to 63,000 get massive sponsorship deals, and become the new Man c !. Come on we have massive support let's show the world relegation was a blip in our history.
