How many of the people that got run over today did any of that? "We" haven't been bombing them. Random pedestrians in Barcelona almost certainly haven't.
The hatred between the West and East goes back further. Whether it be the Roman Empire or the Crusades. Killing innocents is cowardly. These terrorists wouldn't go into open battle with the British army. ISIS could be crushed in a matter of weeks if the West and Russia wanted rid of them. Nobody killed today dropped any bombs.
Impossible to stop suicidal morons. Pedestrianise the city centres and they'll attack towns or find different ways of attacking.
I would ban all faith schools. Not Muslim schools - ALL faith schools. I don't see a place for them in 2017. I have no problem with people living in communities, provided they are not cut off from others. Communities have always had centres of concentration in larger cities, whether they are Muslim, Jewish, Indian or Irish, etc, etc. That in itself isn't a problem. I do think all kids should integrate from the earliest possible age though, being taught by fully qualified teachers without a faith agenda - whether that is Catholic, CofE or Muslim.
and I doubt many of the people we've bombed did either, but the bombers got a parade and a hero's welcome when they landed here. Who paid them to do it, and voted for the people that ordered it? I can guarantee most people on here who voted voted for one warmonger or the other, depending on whichever one offered to put the most money in their pocket.
How many of the thousands killed by Western bombs were maniacal suicide bombers or drove cars into crowds of pedestrians. All sides have their reasons but indiscriminate killing is wrong whoever does it
Bombers got a parade? That war criminal (I strongly believe Blair should be charged) did get rid of one of the biggest monsters in history, Saddam Hussain.
The same man that Britain and the US (under Thatcher and Reagan and then Bush) armed and supported throughout the 1980s when Iraq was at war with Iran and when he was gasing his own civilians for being Kurdish. It was widely reported at the time and I rèmember people in my union at the time (NALGO) protesting about it. We and the West in general have a long in glorious history of this. We armed and support the Argentinian Junta in the 1960s and 70s. Britain and the US armed, trained and supported the Taliban in the early 1980s when they were fighting Russian. A key person in the Taliban was s certain Bin Laden. We train, arm and support a whole variety of lunatics until their lunacy pisses on our interests and we end up at war with them. Maybe we should simply stop as it ain't working and has made our world a **** more dangerous.
I really don't see an argument against this, honestly. If you want to teach your children your religion, then you're free to do so. Segregating them throughout their school years should not be an option, though.
100% agree. Fine to teach awareness about religion in schools, in the same way that you would teach about any beliefs or cultural issues. But to indoctrinate children into having a strict faith that expunges any other ideas about spirituality or moral ethics, is tantamount to child abuse in my opinion.
Religion can claim responsibility for more deaths throughout history than any evil empire, famine, natural disaster etc combined. And yet all claim to exist for the benefit and betterment of society. And none can prove the existence of any god. So what arguments are there in favour of religion?
That rules out pretty much every English person I know. We're all curry munchers. Where are we supposed to live?
