Fellow on sky just said "late equaliser for Queen's Park.... " I started cheering Then he says "...against Albion Rovers"
A tough week with three games in 8 days; but find the five changes only affecting the front half of the team baffling from Holloway. We certainly became more effective with Washington and Smith on - but seem to have lost our edge up front again. Who knows what Holloway will do this Friday!
No change at bottom & cant see other than Blackburn or Bristol city & they both need to win 4games to get in front of us, not a chance.
It says something when even Birmingham with only 3 wins since the beginning of December will probably be safe!
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday That's eight days to my counting Kilburn
Very frustrating. We dominated the ball for about 2/3 of the game and did very little with it. Whereas we can be too direct, here there was lots of passing for the sake of it. Apart from the first five minutes Villa offered nothing but our players didn't seem to realise until about 65 minutes in. MOM - Luongo by some distance Smithies - n/a- picked the ball out the net and should have been made to pay to watch the rest Furlong- 5- harsh perhaps but Amavi was **** on their left and still got the better of him a bit too easily and his crosses were really poor. Bidwell- 6- Bidwelly performance from Bidwell. Fine in his own half. Forgettable going forward. Onuoha- 5.5- bleurgh Hall- 7 Goss- 6- quite neat but quite forgettable Freeman- 7- just didn't quite come off for him but had lots of the ball and probably our main threat Yeni- 5- bleurgh Mackie- lots of running, did his best but quite well managed by Hutton who unfortunately was sober Sylla- 4- just not a good footballer Washington- see Mackie above Smith- 6- no real service Petrasso- odd choice at RB- didn't really work Ref- 6- lenient for both teams but bought every dive as they wound the clock down Villa fans - 4 - horrible ****s from a horrible **** place. Stupid accent, all obese. QPR fans- 6- decent noise, I'd guess 900 there. Pie - 8- chicken balti, excellent crust
Actually thought he played well at Derby (relatively). Would like to have seen him with Onuoha maybe to allow Hall to compete with Jedinak and Lansbury who looked like a bad Henri Lansbury impersonator.
Just back in my hotel. Happy to get out of the cold and get myself a nice cold beer. Agree with most of Watford said. Luongo was brilliant. Best game I have seen him play for us. Runner up man of the match for me was Jamie Mackie. He is so easy to criticise but boy he tries. I don't agree with the criticism of Onouha. I thought he did ok. Very unlucky not to at least get the draw. The 12 year old Villa fans beside the away end are highly annoying at best. I enjoyed the game and was very happy with the effort the team put in.
It's difficult to comment on a match you haven't seen or listened to. The lack of goals or more worryingly creating chances is a bit of a concern. But at least our heads aren't going down when we concede and we're not getting spanked. Here's Holloway's view ... Gaffer looks back on Championship clash ... QPR manager Ian Holloway admitted he was proud of his side despite tonight’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Jonathan Kodija scored the only goal of the game in the fifth minute as Villa held on to secure all three points, despite a dominant second half display from the Hoops. “I'm proud of the boys,” said Holloway. “They scored a really good goal early on and we didn't cope with their movement. “But after that we grew into things and in the second half we got better and better. “We just couldn't get the equaliser we deserved.” He added: “But I can't fault our performance. “The switch of tactics, going 4-2-3-1, really gave us the impetus. “We started to make it happen after that and that's why we came stronger and stronger as the game went on. “We did everything we could do. We just couldn't break them down. “We just ran out of time in the end. “The togetherness of my side we there for all to see. “I'm just disappointed our performance didn't get the result we deserved.” Massimo Luongo’s display earned special praise from Holloway, who added: “I don't like singling out individuals but Massimo was outstanding. “He was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. “He showed what a good player he is tonight.” Read more at http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/2...-aston-villa-3658302.aspx#zf72JkLTPwlO7JMe.99
