EPL Saturday 23/01/2016 : West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa, KO 15:00 hours. My AVillaFan prediction, made on 03/01/2016 : West Bromwich Albion 1-2 Aston Villa Stream. Feed2All - West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa
EPL Saturday 23/01/2016 : West Bromwich Albion 0-0 Aston Villa That was a much better performance from AVFC today, a performance not indicative of a team lacking confidence, or doomed to relegation. Per the Opta stats, AVFC had fifteen shots with 4 on target as opposed to 4 and 0 from the Albion. I think Garde missed a trick by replacing Kozak with Gestede, he should have gone for the dual striker tactic; this option will not be available now until Gestede's hamstring injury clears up. The gap to 17th is currently 9 points, pending the games tomorrow. Attendance : 26,165 (SSN) After the result today AVFC's total Form Points has stayed at 21 ... that is, points after 38 games. The maximum available is now 58 points.
It is a break from the EPL next match. FA Cup Round 4, Saturday 30/01/2016 : Aston Villa v Manchester City, KO 15:00 hours.

EPL Tuesday 02/02/2016 : West Ham United v Aston Villa, KO 19:45 hours, BT Sport. Back to EPL action on Tuesday night, where AVFC must win the game and start to close the gap !!! I hope my AVF prediction, made on 03/01/2016, is wrong ! : West Ham United 1-1 Aston Villa

EPL Tuesday 02/02/2016 : West Ham United 2-0 Aston Villa The less said about Ayew's stupidly incurred 17th minute Red Card, the better. Despite this defeat the gap to 17th is still 10 points and next up is that team in 17th place, Norwich City. Attendance : 34,914 (SSN)
Our form at the moment is as bad as yours but your biggest problem is Newcastle. With the signings they have made I cannot see them going down so you are aiming for the Club above us who are 13 points clear of you. That means that you have got to win 5 MORE games than them in the last 14 matches. You have only won 2 in the first 24!! Do you really believe you have any chance of survival?
The odds are stacked against AVFC, of that there is no doubt, 1950Canary. However, as with any match, there is no point in even starting if the attitude is not to go out and win it. To answer your question, Yes, there is the chance of survival. It is a monumental task to turn the situation around, but the team must make the effort. Personally I do not and will not accept relegation unless and not until, it becomes a mathematical certainty.
It saddens me to see a Club of your stature struggle as they are - I am of an age where I can remember Villa being one of the biggest Clubs in the land although to this day I still cannot understand how MacPharlane got away with that barge in the back!! Best of luck for the season - after Saturday of course - but I suspect we will be playing each other next year in the Championship.
Thanks for that, Canary1950, but you will have to enlighten me on MacPharlane ! EPL 03/02/2016 : Everton 3-0 Newcastle United ... Newcastle stay in the bottom 3 and the gap to 17th remains the same, 10 points. EPL Saturday 06/02/2016 : Aston Villa v Norwich City, KO 15:00 hours. My AVillaFan prediction, made on 01/02/2016 : Aston Villa 1-0 Norwich City
You mean Peter McParland, 1950Canary. That is not the sort of play that would be tolerated now, but we have to judge games past by the rules of their time, not our time. The final was marred by a collision after only six minutes between Villa forward Peter McParland and United goalkeeper Ray Wood, which left Wood unconscious with a broken cheekbone. Wood left the pitch and Jackie Blanchflower took over in goal for United. Wood eventually rejoined the game in an outfield position as a virtual passenger before returning to goal for the last seven minutes of the game. - Wiki

EPL Saturday 06/02/2016 : Aston Villa 2-0 Norwich City This is the sort of game AVFC should win, so it is good to see the team doing what it should do. Now this is like building an innings, one step at a time and accumulate. The gap to 17th is 8 points after the results today. Attendance : 47,472 ! (SSN) - I don't think so, probably 27,472 ... or maybe 27,474 ?
Well done guys. You turned up, we didn't. I've said for a few weeks this is our biggest weekend of the season, and it's gone totally wrong. I even guessed all the results right, I even guessed 2-0 to you guys. Just had such a strong feeling all week. I'm heart broken, I'm guessing you guys have a massive wave of relief and a break from such a horrible season. Also, you can enjoy MOTD. Which as a Norwich fan, I find really hard to watch most weeks.
Thanks for that ... and I totally agree with you about MOTD ! I never hope to see another team relegated, I just do not want to see my team relegated. The attendance was 37,472 for Aston Villa 2-0 Norwich City. Next match : EPL Sunday 14/02/2016 : Aston Villa v Liverpool, KO 14:05 hours, Sky Sports 1 HD
