Well done and congrats on getting to the final, I'm gutted but have to say you were the better team. Would have replied earlier but didn't think there was anyone on here.

EPL 25/04/2015 : Manchester City 3-2 Aston Villa Talk about throwing it away !!! ... after a dismal start (gift #1) AVFC got right back into the match, only to go two behind from a free-kick (gift #2), before coming back to 2-2, only to concede from a corner (gift #3). AVFC remain at 15th in the EPL after all the results today, but if we continue playing like this, but with a meaner defensive spirit !!! ... I have no doubts we will finish well clear of the bottom three. EPL 02/05/2015 : Aston Villa 3-2 Everton That was an excellent performance today. Despite Clattenburg's worst efforts for Everton, awarding a penalty for FKsW and allowing a goal when our keeper, Shay Given, was fouled, AVFC were well worth the three goals scored and the three points too. Our third goal, scored by Cleverley, was the best, coming from incisive team movement. One other bonus, it was good to see Alan Hutton back from injury. AVFC rise to 14th after this and the other results today. EPL 09/05/2015 : Aston Villa 1-0 West Ham United A good attacking first half and a nervy defensive second half, nevertheless with the correct result. Personally I am happier when we are attacking the opposition, it puts them under pressure and increases our chances of scoring goals and winning games. I now expect to see Aston Villa win their games, irrespective of the opposition. AVFC retain the 14th spot in the EPL and are 4 points clear of the bottom three. EPL 16/05/2015 : Southampton 6-1 Aston Villa Christmas has come early for Southampton !!! ... definitely 'A bad day at the office' ... or ... 'We were the architects of our own destruction' ... or ... 'We shot ourselves in the foot' ... etc, etc, etc, ... for AVFC today. Match Report : AVFC - Day to forget as Villa sunk by clinical Saints Attendance : 31,636 (SSN) Manager's verdict : AVFC - Sherwood on "unrecognisable" Saints defeat
The EPL results today mean that Aston Villa are mathematically safe from relegation. I trust this will be the last Season that I and all Villa Fans will have to endure a relegation battle !!!
EPL Sunday, 24/05/2015 : Aston Villa v Burnley, KO 15:00 hours. I will be at this match today, Trinity Row 'A' and expect to see Aston Villa defeat Burnley, provided we do not present them with sort of gifts we showered on Man City and Southampton (!!!) and have predicted a 3-1 win for AVFC. Now many folks have described this game as 'meaningless' for us, but as far as I am concerned, no competitive game is ever meaningless. I doubt if Tim Sherwood thinks this game is meaningless either and that is why I expect to see AVFC do the job required today. As former Aston Villa Manager Vic Crowe said way back in 1972 : "We must be professional and ruthless right through to the end.". Links to streams. EPL 24/05/2015 : Aston Villa 0-1 Burnley The only benefit from this match was seeing third choice goalkeeper Jed Steer, in for the injured Shay Given. JS performed his goalkeeping duties well. Nathan Baker had a solid game too, but the rest just did not co-ordinate their collective efforts today. If we play in this disjointed way next week, Arsenal will have a cakewalk ! Aston Villa finish this League campaign on 38 points and 17th in the EPL. If Paul Lambert was still in charge, doing this would be considered a miracle. With Tim Sherwood we recognise it for what it actually is, a successful salvage operation, which would not have happened if Paul Lambert had been left in charge. Many Thanks for your efforts, Tim Sherwood. FA Cup Final : Saturday 30th May 2015 : Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa A disappointing performance from us today, not incisive enough. No disgrace to lose to a better team though, Arsenal showed how the game should be played. Nevertheless, well done to our lads for getting to the Final, just a pity we did not win it. UTV.
