Honestly, I think he's done with football. He's gradually moved into property and he got what he wanted out of NUFC (he's got the land behind the ground and was granted permission to build). He's done. He'll be aiming to strike a deal on the shirts with Sports Direct but, yeah, he's off.
Seems like a lot of movement over the last few weeks with the Chinese investor interest and Carr stepping down. Could well be stripping things back for new ownership. Guess its a case of wait and see what Ashley does next but he did say he'd sell up if we won something...
I sense that he's calling it a day with us. I never sensed a happy outcome with Ashley, but if he does leave us in good health, and in the hands of a good manager, it's probably the best outcome we could hope for. I'll breathe a sigh of relief once a decent quality new signing is delivered though.
