He gave updates on Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud. This is what he had to say: on the latest team news… Giroud will not be available for Saturday and Aaron Ramsey will not be available, but Francis Coquelin is back available and apparently we have good news. I have not seen everybody coming back from international games but we have quite good news. on Ozil’s fitness… He told us he’s completely fit. We’ll see that today, if we have no bad news today. I see him later. I expect him to be available, especially because he’s only played one half, so he doesn’t need to be rested on Saturday. on Ramsey not being ready yet… I must say I’m disappointed because he has worked very hard. He’s at the last stage of building up his fitness and he’s not far away. on if Ramsey has a chance to play next week… Next week will come too early. on what the problem is… It’s a bit of a vicious circle. He had a little setback, so we rested him. The longer that lasts, the more time you have to dedicate to build up his fitness again because he has been out for four weeks. Then you have to basically create a new three-week preparation to get him up to the level he was at before the injury. It’s more the time it takes to rebuild his fitness. We have decided that we’ll give him a complete pre-season, even if he misses one or two more games. on Giroud… Giroud will be a little bit the same because he has been out now, he has still not been on the pitches. I think he starts to have a jog again today for the first time so he has been interrupted a lot in his preparation. We have to build his fitness up again.
I hate playing Swansea. I'm so sick of struggling to beat these ****s at home. We'd better do it this time around and to be honest, I think we will. 3-1 Arsenal I'm going for
Yeah bit of a mystery the Giroud thing, I can understand he might have needed resting after the Euro's but we're half way through October now ....
Normally never good to play against a team who just lost their coach. They always run more to impress.
Harsh RED CARD against Xhaka!! Professional foul for sure, Yellow at best! But not a dangerous tackle! Unlucky!!
Had to miss the game, but it sounds like what should have been a comfortable victory ended up being bloody hard work. Xhaka had an absolute mare by the sound of things, but at least we won which is the main thing, especially when going down to 10 men. From what I read, Walcott was our most potent attacking threat, but Sanchez wasn't at the races. To be honest, I'm just happy we beat them because they always seem to cause us problems in our own backyard. Thankfully this time we have the last laugh.
Scoreline DID flatter Swansea, yes, we made some errors at the back, but the score could have been 7 - 4 if not for some poor finishing from both sides. Ref made some poor decisions, but overall a very entertaining match and we go joint top! MOTM - Theo (although if should have had 4 goals) Another WIN under our belt, 6 wins in a row now, doesn't matter how you win and we seem to be grinding out results for a change! Plus points dropped by Man City and the Spuds.
Wow.. why so quiet? Missed the game. Good result against a team we have struggled against lately. Sounds like Walcott missed a few absolute sitters. But have to be happy with three points particularly when City and Spurs drop points.
Not surprised Sanchez wasn't at his best. These Internationals must be killing him. It's a good 15-18 hours to fly out to Chile. I found when I go to the States jet lag is FAR worse after the return leg.
Could be the shortest match thread in this boards history. Which is weird considering it was a eventful game
Yeah. I was at the pub (finally found one that shows all the footy games live on campus) but fack me it was nervy. I'm just glad we got the win. We were wasteful, we made mistakes, John Moss made mistakes but good resilience to hold on to the 3-2 lead while playing with 10 men.
Missed the game today, sounds like we made hard work of it. I'll wait to see the Xhaka incident later, but it might be a part of his game that he needs to watch. He's been sent off plenty of times already in his careers. We can't afford for him to be out suspended too often.
