Liverpool gave the best against us in the 0-0 draw...they have nothing left and will give up as they run onto the pitch. Called it.
I preferred to get Liverpool rather than Man United who are fielding really strong teams in this competition. Liverpool will probably field a stronger team than against Leeds but will probably include some youngsters. On top of that, Coutinho is injured and Mane will be missing for the 2nd leg so they won't be at full strength.
When was the last time you failed to score at home! The win eases the pain of you lot letting me down, ****ing oxlade at the end, always said he was sh*t!
Courtinho and Mane are certainty big threats......could do with Firmino picking up a knock or suspension near our fixtures.
Yeah, this; it's his positional awareness, vital in a full back. Especially in the moment immediately after we lose possession. Not sure Cedric's is great either, tbh.
When I said 'our defence', I meant Saints! (I am a Saints fan ) You should have gone for no Arsenal goals, a much more sensible choice, and you could probably have got far better odds. I mean, mighty Arsenal, failing against Saints? It could never happen, could it?
and talking of Frazer; what energy drink was he on!? I've never seen him leave his line so often & so far. Couple of catches, one punch! What's going on!!??
That was so good to see. I understand a keeper that defends his goal and leaves the area to the defenders, however he relives so much pressure by coming for a catch. Plus, it gives us an opportunity to see his four stage drop to the ball once he's caught it.
Agreed. It's all about decision making & Frazer's isn't that great i.e. when to leave his line but thought he got it perfect last night. Actually all players did excellent & extra mention for CP - rotation works! He has a really nice squad, all first team ready - not like Arsenal. We could go far!
Gary, I think that is a little harsh on Fraser. I actually think he is a keeper who doesn't leave his line. That's his style, so it is not so much that his decision making is poor, more his style is different. On the very rare occasion he does, it is a bonus. Peter Shilton was very much like this.
I understand where you're coming from FLT but even against Everton, we were static in our 6yd box on a few occasions & it nearly cost us dearly. Same LFC. Yep, I agree it's not his style but he's such a giant & it would be relatively easy to pick / swat a few & relieve the pressure. I believe he really could be England's #1, if he had that in his locker. He's immense & paramount to our success regardless.
I realise that now ha! And I thought the risk was saints not scoring, let alone winning and not conceding! How dare they! I mean Yoshida and cuco didn't even make there once a game **** up! It's not on!
Erased from memory. Id didn't happen! Edit: *shouts* KLOPP HASN'T BEATEN US IN A GAME I CARE TO REMEMBER
Oh I agree. If he added that to his game. Awesome. Maybe Dave Watson has been encouraging him that way.
This. I've always thought that he doesn't command his area well enough for a keeper his size but was fantastic in that department last night.
Just remembered that tje allocation rules have changed this year so we won't have to give Liverpool the extra block like normal... which is good. I've always thought cup games put us at a disadvantage when we lose most the Northam
