With mega money Spurs and Arsenal both currently struggling in the Premiership, not to mention other well established teams, are Brighton or Saints really being totally unrealistic in their quite openly stated ambition to join the elite clubs. With money bags Man City and Man Utd stamping their authority on the Premier League this weekend, does it mean that the teams like, Swansea, WBA, Blackburn and the Blackpools and possibly Saints and Brighton of this World would now only be one season wonders, as they can simply not afford nor attract the talent necessary to stay in the Premier League? Any thoughts fellow South Coast football fans?
We have a very active forum over at www.northstandchat.com, the amount of Brighton representatives there are on this forum is more about that, then there being a lack of numbers. As you'll find out, if you're playing us at any point this season.
I hope you lot go up, i lived in Hove for a few years and Brighton is a fantastic place to live... You lot have had it hard over the years and deserve to be up with the big boys
I think that an organised well together and settled team is really important and it has clearly worked for ourselves (Saints) and Brighton. However, there is a long way to go and I guess by Christmas we will have a better idea of our teams fortunes.
No. If a Club is run properly, has a good fanbase, a good stadium and an innovative and respected manager who will attract players from the "big clubs" then they can survive in the Premiership. Looks as though Brighton tick most of those boxes.
