Ashley (nufc) could be made an example of here by HMRC. I guess all sorts of dodgy deals happen everywhere in football (doesn't make it right) but it does happen.. just look at messi and Barca, huge tax avoidance by him but as he's one of the best in the world he avoids a major problem. U.K parliament hate Ashley, southern press hate nufc.
Big business should be cleaned up , but think it's not fair to target us ( if we've done wrong we should take all the punishment we have coming) but for nufc being investigated you could and probably should insert any other clubs name. But our Ashley connection will always have us forefront for stick
I reckon it was Ashley who called HMRC in if they have Charnley and all the computers and phones then no deals could be made saving Ashley millions
If the club have done wrong then they would deserve all they get, but you're right, we're a nice soft target compared to some of their beloved London clubs.
Sorry, don't buy the victimization/conspiracy idea. HMRC target who they like. They don't give a **** what MPs think. We did more business with Marseille than anyone else. If that business was dodgy, we would get the most spatter. Oh, and Messi was convicted to tax evasion. We haven't even been charged.
Find it quite funny that despite the fact that Chelsea and West Ham were also involved, just about every press report I've seen shows a pic of St James'
