For all the shut that Aluko has been given these last few games, he's looked like one of the few players who might create something. Has to start against Boro in some capacity, unless Jake is fit.
He got caught twice in possession in his own half last night! He needs to know when to do the tricks & when to play a pass the way he's facing! But he scored
He's no different to most if not all players, they need a 'a run' in the team to get match fitness, being fit in itself is simply not enough. I'm not convinced by Bruceys squad rotation policy
Bruce said on the Youtube interview I saw that he 'had put himself right in the shop window' then backtracked a bit and said 'put himself in contention to play', makes you wonder how he is managing these players behind the scenes it really does
He made an impact, he didn't have to play well. Even so, he was still better than 8 or 9 others last night.
Really? 8 or 9. Not popular to say it but we played well first half and went 1 down to a wonder strike. Snodgrass Odubajo Robbo Hudd played well. Dawson wasnt his usual 8 or 9 but a steady 7. Same with Davies. Clucas was ok not great. Greegsy had a dodgy punch and made a good save just after we equalised. I'm happy Aluko scored and posted a few weeks ago he may have a part to play. But as Greeny said twisting and turning and being dispossessed 50 yards from their goal isnt what he was brought on for. At least his one shot, apart from the goal, didnt trickle along the ground but ballooned into the crowd.
Aluko is another one of those who would benefit from decent coaching and training, he over-thinks things and usually there is no end product, he needs to keep it simple and release the ball at the right times. It doesn't matter probably now because he will be off at the end of the season anyway
We did, for a while, play well, but put it into context. We played better than we did against MK Dons, but it couldn't get much worse. It wasn't, however, anywhere near as good as the performances pre-Birmingham. We know what a good Hull City performance looks like, some of us may have forgotten, but I don't accept that what we saw last night was a 'good' performance.
No. If both are fit I'd play Meyler and Jake and get that side that got us where we are back firing again. I'd only play Aluko in the place of Clucas, but he's been doing ok lately.
Yes! I think Diame could be more affective coming off the bench when the opposition are getting tired! Worth a try! We deffo need to shake things up a bit!
I really don't like playing Diame up front, he drops too deep to get the ball which isolates Hernandez. I'd have no problem with him playing there if he actually stayed there and helped his buddy Abel out, but he doesn't. Akpom isn't the answer either, so either play Dio or stay as we are, but if we do, it has to be more effective. Ayala won't take any **** and their keeper has been outstanding this season.
I never understand your criticism of players like Huddlestone, Aluko and Davies yet you defend Meyler who is the worst passer in the team, constantly stops play and passes backwards, constantly loses the ball and falls over - what is it with you and Meyler, we need to know
