Odd one. BREAKING: Sam Allardyce has decided to quit from his role as manager of Crystal Palace. (via @MailSport) please log in to view this image
For years he's looked capable of getting a small club established at mid table or above, but he always seems to leave prematurely having done a great job. Even the England job I think he'd have been good for, had he not left that one prematurely too. He's a twat though, so I don't particularly mind him not achieving as much as he should.
Wonder if he hasn't got the 'budget' he wants, whereas at Sunderland he probably will. Didn't Pulis leave Palace in same/similar circumstances?
I don't think they ever really wanted him. And I am not sure he is a London type. Maybe worked to keep them up but he isn't a fit there.
How old is he now? Does he have one more job left in him? He must have millions in the bank by now, and he managed to **** England up in a rather original way. Surely he wouldn't leave this now, at this stage in his career, to go back to ****ing Sunderland? Could happen I s'pose.
Thing is though, we don't really need saving, yet. We need to be responsibly managed so that we don't need saving later in the season.
Why are people suggesting Sunderland? Has Ellis gone, am I missing something? Budget being a clear word in all this.
