For those of you old enough to rember the 1950's the sad news of the death of Albert Franks, who played at Centre Half in the late 50's before his transfer to Glasgow Rangers n 1960 was announced last Sunday.

After retiring from the game Albert went on to serve as a Police Officer.

In his later life he enjoyed watching ch cricket becoming the president of Washington Cricket Club.

Last Friday and Saturday I had the pleasure of sitting with him watching Washington beat both Brandon and Mainsforth he was as always in good form and seemed fit as a fiddle. He was found dead on Sunday morning.

A true gentleman who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
