I know this doesn't really fit under the ''afternoon drinking'' header BUT, just back from my local and had the obligatory half gallon of the latest guest ale and would like to recommend it to the gentlemen who tend to habituate this thread - I give you, ''Farmers Blonde'', from the Bradfield brewery - it's 4% and is without a doubt one of the slipperiest brews I've quaffed in a long time, it goes down the neck soooo easily, give it a try if you see it. PS It's best followed up with haddock and chips and two large Magno brandies!
I'm currently having a pint in Ealing Wild Beer 5.5% ...not recommended, it doesn't taste finished! Better than not drinking on an afternoon though of course...and I'll change my mind for the next one!
Couple of pints in Ealing...went for a walk...saw a bloke in a Hull FC t-shirt...that wasn't hugely surprising I suppose...but the fact he was playing croquet was!!!
I'm drinking Gulder lager. Apparently it's Nigerian. Nice. Made with a portion of sorghum, got to be by law. Anyone reading this has now learned something. You are welcome.
Where the **** are you that it's now the afternoon? (I thought sorghum was a foodstuff...suppose that's right then)
Went on an Army reunion at the weekend in that there London Town. Started drinking at 12.30 pm on both Friday and Saturday, which wasn't overly clever looking back at it. Ended up in a Salsa club untl the early hours on Saturday night. Loads of young, good looking people dancing very sexily to Latin beats. And then there was me and my mates. Either bald or grey and most of us on the portly side, whinging like frig about paying £6.50 for a bottle on San Miguel. We looked a proper set of miserable old bastards. PS. I couldn't function on Sunday. At all.
I couldn't find the ale thread so this had to do. The mrs has buggered off to bed and left me talking to Chazz the dog again. It must be strong this gulder
I have to a large degree, though I just went out and bought a bottle of wine to get me through today watching City.
