... the mags have been crowing merrily away and, frankly, who can blame them. But we've strengthened our team over the last couple of days whilst they are under more pressure than ever to sell Aunty Carol. If it's true that Spurs have offered £25M Fat Mike is going to be seriously tempted. If only to replenish his coffers a bit after the bath he's taken on NUFC since buying the club without bothering to do his due diligence. All we need is another striker (or one we have getting back to fitness) and we'll have the best squad I can remember and that includes Peter Reid's squad of the late 90s/early00s. We have more depth now than ever before and if Muntari and Sessegnon bed in well we'll take a bit of shifting.

    Happy days...:emoticon-0103-cool:

Sid - dont forget that we also have the likes of Meyler, Turner & Campbell as long term injured to come back and Welbeck & Mensah more short term.

If we can put a striker into the equation we really will have a squad second to nothing outside the top 4/5 clubs.

This is the best season in my lifetime as far as being effectively safe in December; 6th coming into the new year (but a strong 6th not hanging on to it) and on the shirt tails of the nations elite 4/5 clubs. That only Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester's City & Utd are keeping us at bay from a top 5 or even 4 place is testimony to our fantastic season.

In cant wait to see Sessegnon and Muntari and the return of our injured players over the coming weeks.

With the replacement for Judas probably waiting until the Summer and maybe another left back to cover Bardiniho then as well, I am getting very excited for the next few seasons at the club, with an average age of around 22/23 for the squad we could be standing on the verge of something very special.

As for Agent Ash, he will be serioulsy thinking about the money for Carroll, as will the Casino on Westmorland Road?:emoticon-0125-mmm:

To be honest Ive realised this season that the derby games dont matter very much. No one outside the NE cares or can even remember the result in October. What matters is that we are moving forward steadily by a combination of a shrewd buys and stable management team.:emoticon-0103-cool:

You're not wrong Cest. Meyler's been bloody unlucky with injuries, but he's a player when he's fit. It's funny about Turner and Campbell though. I thought they were really good buys at the time, but now I'm beginning to think of them more as squad players. Maybe I'm just turning into a spoilt bastard with all the good things going on?
