U18s v Wolves The U18s first league game is tomorrow at Motspur Park - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/24/under18s-host-wolves Hopefully we'll get team news shortly. So far as I can find out it's unfortunately behind 'closed doors'.
I do hope you are correct cottager Re : open to the public,as i did enquire this afternoon and was told no public to be admitted. ko 12 noon
Had it from Sarah Brookes, rosc. Asked her if it was open doors and she confirmed it was, adding "and it's free". Since I asked her, I've inherited a family commitment and now may not make it. Bit grumpy with a certain daughter!!
Fulham 7 Wolves 1 (U18s) A terrific win in their first league game - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/25/u18s-71-wolves
Fulham 3 Wolves 3 U16s A good team effort by the youngsters. Patrick Roberts scored our first half goal and Aaron Roberts 2 in the second half.
llke you cottager could not make todays game, but heard from a friend that the team were so well organised, lets hope for a great season. Incidently, any idea where Roberts the goalkeeper is,i thought he had great potential.
I did too rosc, but for whatever reason he's now gone (from Everton) to Cheltenham on a 1 year loan. I'm not sure I understand Fulham and goalkeepers at the moment. Forgetting the 4 in the 1st team squad and whether we're bidding for another, at U21 we've loaned out Betinelli. At the U18 level the usual goalie Oberschmidt was injured yesteday so we played Billy Grainger a 'loanee' from Spurs. What about young Magnus Norman who did really well in the pre-season games?
Thanks Cottager,I felt this lad was destined for a great future,as mentioned before Jesse Jaronnen, was my favourite among the younger keepers ,be he to seems to have disappeared from the radar
Closed Doors As I mentioned in the other thread, the main reason the Club have taken this decision is to control/manage attendance of scouts from other clubs at U21 and U18 games. However some U21 and most U18 games at Motspur Park will be open, albeit 'limited'. By that I mean fans will be able to attend if they; * are members or season ticket holders, or * have emailed the Club (general enquiries address) and received prior permission To get in on the day, you will need to provide ID and one of the above.
Fulham 1 Wolves 2 (U21s) A disappointing start to their League campaign. Only a very brief report from the Club but noted that Stockdale and Simon Davies played - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/27/u21vwolvesreport
Spoke to an acquaintance who works at MP,who said the back 3 were poor, with Stockdale not being in control of his area, this is only one persons opinion, but I would have thought a home win would have been on the cards.
Fulham 4 Luton 1 (U16s) And on a brighter note, an excellent team performance from our U16s earler today. Taj got 2 goals, George one and Phil the other.
A must watch - video highlights of our 7 goal demolition of Wolves and some fast, fluid play - http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/fulham-7-wolves-1-barclays-u18-premier-league/
He was playing Captain and scoring - junior that is. From the glimpses he looks strong and pacy but a bit lacking in first touch. But hey, 16 years old and playing in U18 league he has time.
Here are video highlights of this game - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/30/wolves-u21-highlights
The U18s have a tough game tomorrow away to Crystal Palace. However, they should be brim full of confidence after the 7-1 win against Wolves, with Minky pulling the strings. The most impressive thing though was how well they took their chances as the video clip in the earlier post shows. Here is a preview of tomorrow's game from the Club - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/31/palace-trip-for-under18s
As well as this U18 game tomorrrow (ko 11am), the U21s also play Crystal Palace this weekend - Sunday 2nd September Motspur Park ko 2pm . This game is " limited open"; that is you can attend under the 'rules' which are listed in the earlier post.
