That's your favourite ever away game?!? I went to it but turned up at half time after miscalculating how long it would take to get to that ****hole from across London. I was delighted when it went to extra time just so I got my monies worth.
Not particularly for the game itself but the whole day, from setting off from Hull around mid day to getting back home at 2.00 in the morning. Four of us in the car, had a great laugh, exactly what away games are supposed to be about.
They haven't shrunk our standing at all? We are in the prem and have been two of the last three seasons?
You can lead a whore to culture, but you can't make her think. Dorothy Parker, When asked to use the word "horticulture" correctly in a sentence US author, humorist, poet, & wit (1893 - 1967)
For me appointing Mario Silva might well prove an important move on the football side of things but there is a hell of a lot of damage which appears irrepairable at this club and whatever the Allams do now they can't turn back the clock. They still have to go - I usually go to a game over Christmas and buy City stuff in Hull but even though it was Man City in town, my Bro in law and I decided against attending - he found the ticket prices for kids disgusting, "How can you expect to attract the new generation of fans with prices like those?" he said.. For me, the bad taste is still around, even a Silva lining can't make the clouds go away I'm afraid.. my club's results are not the most important thing, I need to feel proud of the club and I don't right now..
I'm only talking about on the field. I personally like to get behind the players and try not to get to caught up in things off it. Don't really see what's wrong with that. Certainly not worthy of some of the abuse I have received on this thread.
Wasn't acting 'hard' honestly. I just prefer to mix with people who can see the bigger picture. I find those who shut out the bits they don't want to see quite offensive and admittedly I don't suffer fools (not always a good trait). That applies in all walks of life by the way, not just supporting CITY.
Some people just go to the football and follow football for the love of football. I have enough stress and pressure outside of it to be worrying about off the field matters too much. Again give it a rest with the 'don't suffer fools gladly' nonsense. As you would do nothing.
I never suggested I would 'do anything' other than possibly move seat/walk away. And if you don't mind me observing I think it's a kop out talking about "enough stress and pressure outside of it to be worrying about off the field matters too much". It's **** on the field as a direct result of what is happening off the field. WAKEY WAKEY
It's all about priorities. Some fans might have a terminal illness or a loved one seriously ill. Sometimes an afternoon at football takes your mind off things. Off field goings on will probably be the last thing they'll be concerned about as long as they have an enjoyable afternoon. Whilst with some fans, football is a major part of their lives. Almost to the point of obsession. We shouldn't criticise fellow fans whichever point of view they have. Whether it's one of the above or somewhere in between.
"It's all about priorities" - it is "Some fans might have a terminal illness or a loved one seriously ill". - Bit of an extreme example but they might "We shouldn't criticise fellow fans whichever point of view they have". I wish you could work with the righteous ones who believe we "hooligans" are in the wrong
