Is what we need in the Summer.

I was reading a Mcateer interview and he suggested we're too nice. I think he has a point we need a fear factor, someone to go stick a boot in now and then. Chelsea have a few, Utd deffo have them.

Get a couple of bad lads in Jurgen I want some steel in the team.

    Who is the big question?

Yes I'd agree, not a joey Barton type though. We would want a bit of bit I reckon <laugh>

Yes a suarez type of "I want to win whether is a friendly, a training session or a kick about with the kids"

You can tell sometimes a lot of players shrug and walk off to get in their Bentley and go to their mansion or a lap dancing club when they lose.

I would want someone who would kick our mascot if we lose. Angry liverbirds is what I want.

    Training was serious for Suarez...

Skrtel looked the part but I'd bet on Suarez in that fight.

Was watching Sports Greatest on sky sports the other day and it was on Souness.

I remember him saying how much loved hostility and playing in front of such crowds.

We need some players who don't bottle it when under pressure, players who take responsibility and ultimately - players who aren't afraid to make mistakes.

Lol re. Suarez - there was a video when the first team trained with the ladies and they were playing piggy in the middle (Suarez was the piggy) and he slides in on of the ladies! So funny. Such desire.

Souness was of his time. That kind of aggression is xhaka and is now counter productive.

It's desire that's needed. Alonso was perfect example. Truely under rated lfc legend.

I thinks it's very hard to find now.

:bandit: half these fools on here perfer mascherano who was more of a kicker and limited passer.

Alono stood up having never took a pen in the CL final and gave it a go. fair play to him.

I liked Masha but between the two there's no contest Alonso every day.

Exactly. Both had great careers after us showing rafa bought well. Its nothing against mascherano its just saying alonso showed all the running and technical ability.

Thats why the real madrid president said no other player in the world could fit his needs. Imo without alonso real would have done nothing.

It's not just the aggression - it's the leadership, it's taking responsibility, it's not being afraid of anyone.

Mash and Alonso are two different players who play completely different roles.

    Both world class and leaders.

    Like alonso.

He ran furthest, covered more players, passed beeter and savrificed himself to let gerrard play up field passing to torres.

Im seeing a lot of hiding right now at lfc. When all was easy before christmas players ran and covered and thought thry were great.

Right now half the time our cms are awol and its 2 cbs v the world.

ud neve rimo replaced schole or keane.

carrick was decent for them. very good in fact but neither were replaced and utd went downhill as a result.

When someone posted that thread with photos the other day about which one would you have back, my first thought was we need a Tommy Smith or Jimmy Case back not one of those attackers but a proper brick house defender.
