Reading (A) Fulham (H) Birmingham (A) Wigan (H) Burton (H) Sheffield Wed (A) Leeds (H) Ipswich (A) Preston (H) Cardiff (A) Barnsley (H) I think we could crack 8 out of 11 from that to get out 100pts. We've just beaten Brighton away after sturdy performance, and we comfortably beat Huddersfield who were the in form team. Beating them has surely given us a lift.
Looking at that list, then once Tuesday is out of the way then the trip to Sheffield looks to be the most difficult. Knowing us though, Burton at home will be the banana skin
It's really difficult to see where a defeat is going to come from, in all honesty. Whilst we won't win them all, I do agree 8 is entirely possible. Trickiest fixtures for me are Fulham and Leeds.
Got bets on us winning the championship (very likely), us getting 100 points (achievable, but unlikely) and us getting the 107 record (very unlikely). For the record we need to win all, or win 10 and draw 1, so not getting my hopes up on that. 100 we might do, Reading, Fulham, Sheff Wed and Leeds stand out as the crunch games.
If we had more away games it would be nailed on. All we can hope is that Rafa has received the muesli, protein shake and dianabol package I have sent him. Then he will become more manly, grow a set of real nuts, and set us up tactically at home to seek and destroy. Charge!!!! You motherfuckers.
don' forget lads, if we secure promotion.... then the players will play with more freedom after that so may relax a bit more. Plus we will have several teams with nothing to play for who will be 'on the beach' so to speak.....
I hope we win all 11 just to stop Reading from singing their stupid "106" song that we'll no doubt be treated to again tomorrow night. Get over it, that was 11 years ago. Almost as bad Fredor.
Fulham will be tough on Sat - we've been so focussed on Brighton/Huddersfield/Reading I hope we don't lose concentration for this one. Depending on how other results go, we could be pretty much there by we play Sheff Wed/Leeds
I'll honestly be quite surprised if we do well against Fulham. One of the lads on here has made one or two comments about home form..... But in all honesty, they really do have something to play for and have some good players with a decent manager. I'm genuinely worried, because it could easily be back to 5 points if Hudd win their game in hand. The worst thing we could do now is believe the job is done. I don't think for one second Benitez will let it happen, mind.
Exactly - saw the game at Craven Cottage and they've got some serious pace through the team - can somehow see us setting up like we did for Huddersfield for this one
I actually think the mistake would be setting up negatively. We have to bring Hank in for Rafa on this one. 4-3-3 for me (it's about shape, not personnel). Darlow; Yedlin, Lascelles, Clarke, Dummett; Shelvey, Diame, Colback/Hayden; Atsu, Ritchie, Gayle.
Nah we should keep Anita in the team rather than brining Yedlin back in, everything seemed much more solid at the back on Saturday with Anita back in there, like when we went for ages without conceding at the start of the season. Yedlin's okay but is too attack minded and creates too many gaps at the back.
Pretty much agree with this but I'd forget Colback/Hayden and play Perez. If Hayden was fully fit he could play instead of Diame but if not I'm ok with Mo deeper, just not in the No.10. Same goes for Shelvey. Also I was quite impressed with Anita and all you'd have to do is tell him to push on. Yedlin had gone off the boil a little for me. I'd actually drop Lazaar in for Dummett as the other change. If we wanted to surprise them and try something different (I know, how can you dare have more than one way of playing but hey I'm a maverick) then I'd go: ----------------------Darlow------------------- ------Mbemba----Lascelles----Clark-------- Anita--------Shelvey----Diame-------Lazaar -------------Perez-------------Ritchie-------------- -----------------------Murphy-------------------- Look they are going to sit deep. Lets not do the same thing again and hope for a different result. Change the shape. If we are to stick with the 4231, then make sure we have full backs who can dovetail with wingers and attack (Anita - more brain Lazaar - better touch). Also lets not have two sitters in the midfield its pointless and we'll end up that way.
