Scotland will be looking at that and thinking they have a chance of the Triple Crown. A very lack-lustre performance from England and they're by no means home and dry. If Ireland see off Wales they'll have the perfect finale against us in Dublin and Scotland could be playing Italy to win the Championship if they beat England, all to play for...
Yep sooper. The most interesting championship in years. Scotland are playing for a triple crown in 2 weeks time. This Scottish team knows where the try line is. England have been lack lustre in recent performances although it's great to win when not at your best. Technically England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland could still win the championship. Several players playing themselves out of the Lions tour this weekend.
Hilarious in the first half when Italy refused to form a ruck and England didn't know what to do because they didn't know the rules (I didn't either of course, but I don't really need to).
I was very impressed by Italy. In the first half they were awesome. They could/should have led by 16:5.
It's got to be England though, more chance of the scum slipping up on the run in than England, just take a look at the odds
Week 4 fixtures Friday - Wales V Ireland Saturday 13.30 Italy V France 16.00 England V Scotland A couple of great games there potentially. Could be the decisive weekend in the Championship. If England beat Scotland and Wales beat Ireland, it is all over. Thoughts??
Ireland win, not been impressed by Wales this tournament. France England, also unimpressive but winning, against a rapidly improving Scotland......England win after a scare.
Three great fixtures this weekend. Wales will give it everything against Ireland but I think the Irish will be too strong and tactically outplay them. Italy likewise will really give it a go against France, they've pipped them before but I think their habit of tiring in the last quarter will give the French a win. England face Scotland needing a win to equal the all Blacks re cord of 18 straight wins, what better incentive will the Scots need? I think it will be closer than many think but the Scots will miss Laidlaw and England's strength in depth should win the day...
Narrow margins all round this weekend. Wales at home V Ireland will be tight but I can see the Welsh pipping Ireland at home. I think it will be the best game all weekend. Italy CAN beat France, but stamina and strength of character in the last 20 will decide this one. The Scots would LOVE to beat England at Twickers and will go all out to do so, but I can see England squeaking this one against the run of play. A bit like our play off V Derby. Looking forward to some good games starting tonight. A few pints of Guinness are in order methinks!
I normally have a bet on the handicaps, but I can't pick them with any confidence this week. If forced, I would have gone for: Ireland minus 3pts Italy plus 19pts Scotland plus 13pts Instead I've gone for all three games to have plenty of points: Wales-Ireland over 43pts Italy-France over 50pts England-Scotland over 51pts Looking forward to some cracking games.
Ireland looking threatening. But an offside releases the pressure. Wales may hang on here. Been a crunching encounter.
To put it bluntly,Italy can't beat anyone, everyone else looks capable of beating everyone else at home and England look like a cut above even playing poorly. Beat the Scots today, equal the record of 18 straight wins, win the competition with a game to go and then head to Ireland and make history. If they can achieve it 19 straight wins and back to back Grand Slams, with the players that have been missing it will be quite incredible and something I don't think will ever be equalled ! Big Billy back aswell on the bench, all hail King Eddie !!
As you say, it would be an incredible achievement if that happens. The only downside in that run would be the missing win over the All Blacks, until we've played and beaten them you couldn't really assess the quality of the English team in a true perspective. I also think we've benefited from the 6 Nations sides all being in a bit of a transition after their World Cup failures, it's been a good time to go on a winning run. But take nothing away from Eddie, he has been the catalyst that has given us that winning mentality. Bring on the Jocks...
