David Moyes says we will stay up if we win 5 out of the remaining 13 games. That is twice the win rate for the season so far. Does he have a secret team that he is going to unleash because on the basis on the last 2 games, we are gone ?
And on the basis of the Palace and Spurs games? It's not as easy as saying "Becasue we've been rubbish..." - if it was then we'd have been relegated each of the last 5 or 6 years! Look at Leicester last night - they've been woeful and not scored a single premier league goal this calendar year and have played without heart or drive - yet last night comes around and they play like a team possessed and suddenly Danny Pisswater can pass a ball! (Don't rate him at all btw) Edit: I do think we'll get relegated - I have had hope and seen it diminished all season but, even as an eternal optimist, I simply can;t find the hope any more
The boro game is huge. If you lose that one, there'll be a gap opening up and the pressure will mount, it's a Moyes special - Must Not Lose.
I am the eternal optimist and think we will stay up, dont forget the teams we are hoping to get these five wins from are also at risk and will be as nervous us as we are them. We've done this many times before whilst the others haven't. Can we keep our nerve when the chips are down, our recent history and the fact we are due some injured players back shortly makes me think we are well in with a good shout in staying up.
There's a difference imo, they can approach the games with 'Don't lose' mentality, and you've got the added pressure of 'Must win'. At this point in time, looking at the table... only Hull will be looking at Sunderland as a 'must win' game. Possibly Boro, although a draw isn't catastrophic. Things can and will obviously change as the weeks go on. Also, you have been there before correct, but that squad of players haven't. Januzaj hasn't, Pickford hasn't, N'Dong, Anichebe, Denayer, Papy, Pienaar, Gibson, Oviedo... none of them have, the ones who have are all sat on the treatment table, which is a big negative. Beat Man City for us... I mean for yourselves obviously, then that'd be a good start.
The difference between this year and most of the other miracle years is that there was momentum from a change of management. You see the same in Hull, Swansea and possibly Leicester after last night. Like it or not, this change boosts the players in some strange way and whatever it is, we do not have it this year. That said, if you repeat the formula Year on Year, you get to where we are now. Playing it safe is no use now. Each game is a cup final now
The Boro game has been moved.. I didn't even know I thought it was after the City game. Why did it get moved?
It's to be re-arranged because 'Boro are due to be knocked out of the F.A. Cup by The Terriers or The Citizens that weekend instead
Fans haven't given up Mara. But the players have? Maybe a bonus might get the greedy bastards going again.
