I hope Matic gets his mojo back..... pure class last season,then do we want/need Pogba?

 

I would say yes, Pogba isnt as out and out defensive as Matic, plus lots of teams play with two defensive minded midfielders.
We often play Mikel and Matic in midfield, Pogba would just be a huge upgrade on Mikel.

 

If he's going to play 3 at the back we'll only need 1.

 

I think we will shift formation when Conte comes in. I personally have never liked the 4-2-3-1 formation. I also don't think we have the players to manage it. We should far more attacking and open. We have the players for that style.

 

Oh we haven't a chance of getting him. My question was more to see if it was Conte who gave him a chance in the first team. RLC is a similar sort of player so i wonder if Conte will find better use of him. We've wasted him so far.

 

Yes, always thought RLC position is CM / DM. God knows why he is played up / wide.

What are the odds for Spam, Soton & Liverpool to get into top 4?

Had Gus not gifted few valuable points - we would be within 4 or 5 points of City by now.

Now we need to make 10 from 7 games. It is impossible.

Fine with United getting 4th, they are hamstrung by LvG anyway.
City on the other hand, will suffer far more from not being in the CL, both financially, and in terms of holding them back as a threat.
So I am all for United usurping them for 4th.

 

It'll be funny which ever one misses out (in the same way I'm sure everyone is enjoying our struggles).

However Pep going to City to win them the C.L and then not being in it would be pretty hilarious.

Ideal world is United make 4th, meaning they keep LVG. United will remain average for next year and Pep will have to suffer Europa League .
