Apparently Krul, Saivet and Lazaar have been told to find new clubs and dumped in the reserves. Harsh but necessary treatment. Riviere is already with the reserves btw.
I wonder what's happening Aarons? I guess he's being moved to the "wonder kid who actually turned out to be ****" corner, previously occupied by Haris Vuckic, Nile Ranger, Ben Tozer etc. Krul makes sense, he's always been massively overrated and we have better options, time for him to just go to the Dutch league and have an easy life there. Lazaar was a squad signing that was never really needed and wasn't up to it, Gamez needs the same treatment. Saivet? I really don't know, haven't sense anything of him, so I don't think anyone can really judge.
Aarons will probably get a last chance this season, good pre-season and you never know Benitez probably rates all these players in some ways but I think he's had enough of the slow-movement on player sales and is trying to push them out the door. He's making it clear these people will not be entering the fray this season. Shows to me he's keeping De Jong by the way. All Rafa's doing is what i do on football manager, pretty much bully useless players on stupid wages into leaving. By the way did I mention I hate Tim Krul, shame he shown himself up in the frigging dutch league last season. Best we can hope for him is probably a loan
Worryingly enough I can see Rafa really liking De Jong and seeing him as his kinda player, everyone knows how this'll pan out, De Jong will impress in pre-season, Rafa will try and build his team around him, then he'll get crocked in the first league game and be out for the rest of the season. In the same way he clearly wants to have a tactless midfield bulldozer at his disposal, so Diame is clearly staying. I think the Krul hate is pretty much ubiquitous now - failing at Ajax reserves last season, then playing a handful of games for a midtable side in the mickey mouse Dutch league. We've clearly got better options and don't need him flapping around all over the place anymore.
A bit harsh on De Jong! A quality player who although had some injuries, things like collapsed lungs can't be helped. He showed last season that if managed properly he can last a season.
But in the Dutch league!!! And even in that mickey mouse league he only played half the games! The quality of the Dutch league is clearly way below the Prem, and it's less physical and tough. De Jong's been an utter disaster so far, and being fit for a handful of games in a ****ty league hardly makes me think that's gonna change.
So we might as well not sign anyone from any other league as you seem to think that all other leagues are not as physical as the PL. De Jong is a class player and the PL is getting less and less physical. Nee bother, just boo and jeer him like a lot of our fans do.
Not might as well sign any other player, it's this player in particular - he's massively injury prone, and seems much better suited to the much easier Dutch league....just like his brother. I would love De Jong to come good and be a decent player for us, but the odds are against it happening.
He is not a Dyer or a Darren Anderton though - yes he has had a bit of bad luck but a collapsed lung doesn't make him injury prone.
Well he obviously thinks they're all not good enough. Krul I've made my thoughts clear previously, just a shot stopper and has nothing else you need in a modern keeper. Fully understand him being jettisoned. Saivet I have no idea but he is hardly sought after so that probably tells its own story. Lazaar - just a bizarre situation which is hard to fathom. A Rafa signing but never seen the light of day.
I suspect he was bought just in case we got into a situation where experience was needed in an emergency last season. As it turned out it wasn't, but no problem with Rafa covering all bases just in case.
Stop ****ing him off lazy boy. He made a **** purchase, all managers do. At least Alan had an excuse though...
