How likely is it Bristol City are considering second attempt to sign Norwich winger Sergi Canos?
    By a_stockhausen | Posted: January 10, 2017

Former Liverpool midfielder Sergi Canos, left, is being linked with a move away from Norwich City

Even if we were seriously considering a second attempt to lure Spanish winger Sergi Canos to Ashton Gate, the odds would be against them succeeding.

Having lost out to Norwich in the race to sign the £2.5m-rated youngster from Liverpool in the summer, the Robins have been linked with another potential move for Canos, who has struggled to make an impact at Carrow Road.

But the prospects of Canos turning up in BS3 during this transfer window appear slim to say the least.

Although Canaries boss Alex Neil has all but confirmed that Canos will be made available for transfer, either on loan or a permanent deal, a number of Championship clubs are already showing an interest in the former Barcelona youth star.

Canos has already spoken to Brentford about a possible loan move to Griffin Park. He spent a successful spell on loan at the West London club last season and is reportedly keen to return after failing to break in the first team frame at Norwich.

And if a Sky Sports report is to be believed, Leeds United have now joined the race to land the talented winger. Speculation linking Canos with a move to Leeds was 'liked' by the 19-year-old on his Twitter account last night but it is looking more than likely they will be priced out.

City are already well catered for when it comes to right sided midfielders, with both Jamie Paterson and Luke Freeman able to operate in that position.

QPR have expressed an interest in Freeman and he would have to be sold before City could seriously consider any possibility of moving for Canos.

Kept out of the team by Jacob Murphy since moving to Carrow Road in the summer, Canos has made just five senior appearances for Norwich this term.

If Canos were a genius he would be at Liverpool. Or Norwich
If he is not a genius then he is a waste of resources, and Freeman represents a more stable option

Good player last season for Brentford who went to Norwich in the summer. Given the choice out of us or Norwich at that time it would of been weird that he choose us. If he moved to us or anyone else now, would simply mean he wants to play football and not sit on the bench.

He's not gettting game time at Norwich due to the form of another player. And like someone on another thread said, the problem at the moment at Norwich is Alex Neil, so perhaps his face just fit in Norwichs team like Rhodes don't in Middlesbrough?

Yes if he was this sublime genius he would still be at Liverpool and we would not have one bite at this one let alone a second bite.

As to is he better than Freeman, not seen a great deal of him but judging on his stats from his loan spell at Brentford then yes he is.
