Yep, keep him, stick the armband on him and watch him play his heart out. One of our 'must-keep' players by a mile.
Never said that he was a bad player, just that you are linked with guys I think are better alternatives. Numbers are not lying though...
Don't see Rodriguez as much of a Mourinho player or one who will take to English football quickly. Has he done much for Madrid recently?
Not a fan of Rodriguez. he has made a career off the back of one world cup goal and has failed to live up to his own hype ever since. RM only kept him this long to save them looking stupid and getting rid of him as soon as they realised how mediocre he really was.
Will he score more than De Gea would save in a season. I doubt it. I smell a bad swap deal coming along.
He has done well in his cameos for Real this season - can play CM/AM/RW/LW so offers a lot of tactical flexibility which Mouriniho likes. You do seem to be overloaded in those positions though - can see Martial leaving, most likely on loan.
Thinking about it you might have a point there - it could mean you are going after a pure striker like Lukaku or maybe Zlaten is staying.
Why on earth are we looking to sign him. We have the money to go after the very best in the world - if Rodriguez was the best RM would play him. The fact that they don't should be enough of a warning for us to stay clear and cherry pick the best for any given position rather than help balance the books at RM and pay way over the odds for someone they don't think good enough. We should be chasing the same players as the likes of RM, not taking their cast-offs. With Romero already announced as our EL final keeper this smacks of some sort of deal for them to get De Gea and we've insisted on one of their players as part of the deal. RM are looking around the back rooms and have found Rodriguez and said we can have him - he has an RM shirt, so he's worth £50m.
I know he doesn't play all the time but this is a team who has Ronaldo, Bale, Isco, Benzema, Modric and Kroos to call on for it's forwards and midfield. Him not playing every game doesn't make him ****, although i do get that he's no where near as prolific a goalscorer as Griezmann and it's unlikely we'd get both. He's certainly not a centre forward, he'll be a Rooney replacement. Or, sadly, Mata. For all these rumours coming out, De Gea hasn't been mentioned once so I very much doubt he's part of this deal. I could be wrong though of course.
The papers here all seem to think it is a done deal, they are re-hashing crap about the girlfriend wanting him back - one article suggested that the national team coach warned him his place was under threat because of our poor form. Could just be the silly season in the papers but it seems to have more momentum this year than previously. The same in the Brit press it seems - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...2/David-Gea-played-final-game-Man-United.html
Fellani could be leaving - is wanted by Trabzonspor. Also you are apparently going to announce that you've signed James on Sunday according to the Colombian press.
