I always ask ludicrous questions!! Of course it's a question, but if you feel it is unnecessary to answer, then ignore!
Ok, a question for you. Do you think moving the ball at a quicker pace would pay dividends for us, or you, or any team?
I read £8m per season which falls way short of that figure. Puts him about £150k which is probably about right.
Why shouldn't it? Moving the ball quickly can move the opposition defence all over the place, as can running at pace at the heart of a defence. This was exemplified by Real Madrid in their CL win over Juventus. In addition, I think supporters like to see pace injected into moves. However, it can leave a team with a suspect defence prone to the swift counter-attack, which might be a reason for your team playing rather a conservative style of play. Get the win and then take it from there. But, I prefer moving the ball at a quicker pace, particularly when there is pace in the side. PS: I know it is another sport and ball game but we shall see the All Blacks moving the ball quickly in order to open up the British Lions defence. And it will succeed.
The goal you're talking about was a joy to behold. We scored something similar against Bolton, think it was the season before. Two of three passes from an opposition corner and in. For what it's worth then I do wish we played more like that but sadly we no longer do, Moyes started the decline and van Gaal sucked the life out of us. I expect Mourinho to inject a bit more life back in next season and having Morata (possibly) should help in doing so.
Them Chev's that ferry new signings about to and from Carrington are horrific. It probably took the lad about an hour to get in it.
