Derek Adams has spoken.....I wasn't to far out....got Marc McCallum wrong (preferred instead of Vincent Dorel), and Jimmy Spencer make up the released players....so who will replace them ?

I have to say I saw McCallum make two saves in the warm-up shoot-em-up agaainst Crewe that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. No, really.

I know it's not real game time but Jeeeeesuz he had no right to get any where near. And he's a big lad too (6ft 4). Watch this space.

Looking back over Derek Adams retain list....I feel he has done a good job and chosen well......If he can talk Carey into staying and also strengthening the team with some good players who can bolster our coming Div one campaign then a successful season is possible.

This time last season we where preparing for two legs against Portsmouth in the Divisional play-off semi-finals....and then of course later in the month our disappointing trip to Wembley against AFC Wimbledon.

The beginning of June last year Derek Adams had had a mass clear out plus some players moving on.... and we had roughly four players confirmed for season 2016/17, yet he still ended up with a promotion squad that sees us now planning for 2017/18 in Division One.

PAFC are in a far stronger position this year.....player wise, time wise and financially....having released 13 players and returning 3 loaned players to their mother clubs..... Adams still has 12 confirmed players on his books.

    They are....
Luke McCormick, Nathan Blissett, Ryan Taylor, Gary Sawyer, Antoni Sarcevic, Sonny Bradley, David Fox, Jake Jarvis, Gary Miller, Jacub Sokolik, Yann Songo'o and Oscar Threlkeld.

    Also contract offers to...
    Graham Carey and Marc McCallum.

Plus...3 pro-contracts offered to Jordan Bentley, Alex Fletcher and Callum Rose.

Who will Derek Adams be trying to bring to Home Park for this coming season.....what positions will he feel he needs to strengthen.....I feel a bit of everything will be needed to do well in Division One.

Plus if possible keeping Graham Carey.....if Carey moves on from his successful spells with Adams then a mid-field playmaker would surely be top of his agenda.....and even if he stays a second playmaker would be great cover to have.

Despite what he may have said, Gary Sawyer was out of contract and offered a new one along with with Graham Carey and Marc McCallum, so we cant say yet that it is a done deal. It will be interesting to see what CG does...............I have a feeling that he will be lured away by far more money than Argyle can afford/want to pay. fwiw I don't think that he is as important to the team as some suggest. I also think that staying in L1 will be progress, top 10 would be excellent and a shout of the playoffs, outstanding. With this in mind, I suspect that there is a feeling that we would be alright with or without him, although we would very much prefer to have him here.

Tuesday 25th is 1930 at their ground (1.5 hours from our base-a proper pre season fixture)
Friday 28th is 1400 at their training ground -20 mins (?) from our base.
At least two more UK fixtures to be confirmed, both away and in the south west.

    You are welcome.

Just seen the final score on the beeb site. 3 - 3 sounds like quite a match. Seems Carlisle scored twice late on to get their draw. Exeter should be favourites now with the home leg to come. Hope they make it.

That was last week so it means nothing. One off game with all to play for. I see there are another set of greens in the football league now as well. Glad we aren't doing the predictions in this league next term with Forrest Green Rovers in there. Takes up too much space when you type it.

Yes I'd mentioned that on another thread......strange really isn't it....they'll be both 50 miles up the road during the week.....I would have thought the Blackpool v Luton game might of been of more interest to him (Hylton ?)......thought he might of been interested in Jabo Ibehre....who was scoring goals for fun the previous season....had Carlisle top of the league just on his efforts alone....but checking him out I find he is already 34 yrs old.

Jabo Ibehre was subbed in the last league match (injured ?)....and wasn't in the squad for last night......so maybe Derek Adams was interested in defender Danny Grainger who I believe is out of contract this summer (we need one).....or was he interested in Nicky Adams (to do the Carey roll ?).....but I believe he signed a two year contract last summer....so who knows....I certainly don't obviously.
