Superb! I was wondering when the ITKs were going to kick in. Perhaps it's Bale making a glorious return to the club he loves?
The kit launch is the obvious choice although I can't help but harbour hope it's a signing or a contract renewal (Toby? - Or better yet - Walker! Just to stick it to City).
It's The Kit. I hope whoever runs the Twitter account is prepared for a bunch of offensive tweets when it's revealed. Don't troll your own fans.
If Walker signs for City, it will be a free-for-all wum-fest on the Prem board, even though a few of us have said that we wouldn't be surprised to see him go. You can almost hear the drool hitting the floor, as the usual suspects line up to take the piss. The disappointment, should Walker sign a new contract with us, would be audible across the site!
If Walker goes, Citeh will get rinsed. If he stays : - notch another year to the seasons Levy has not sold key talent to a perceived PL rival - relentless ridicule for those hacks / "pundits" who ran with the story and/or believed themselves to be the UK La Marca.
We've made two signings! Sort of: Anyone know enough about either of them to say anything insightful? I certainly don't.
Lyall Thomas is reporting that we have no plans to bid for Thomas Lemar...while every other source is reporting that Monaco have bluntly stated that Lemar is not for sale, as Monaco are flush with cash from their CL run, let alone money raised from the sale of Silva and likely sale of Bakayako. Of course, the real reason Sky are running with their version of the headline is to get another day or two's worth of clicks out of Goons, but don't mention that until after the window closes... Pretty bad timing...
Only thing I knew (which is stated in the article) was that Suckling was with us beforehand. IIRC Suckling got praise and good recognition by one of our former managers at the time, may have been Redknapp or Jol (but don't quote me on that) and so I presume is someone the club holds in quite high regard.
The fact that Suckling was at the club between 2002-15 makes me wonder at which point he decided it wasn't worth getting on first name terms with the various managers walking through the door...
Another one missed out on: 19-year old midfielder Kundai Benyu has decided what would benefit his career the most is heading to the backwaters of European football, as he's agreed to join Celtic when his Ipswich contract expires this weekend.
City have officially opened talks with Walker. As long as we have lined up a decent replacement (Ricardo Pereira would be fine) and are preparing to rinse them of every dodgy penny they possess, I have slowly accepted the reality that he won't be a Spurs player next season. It will be terrible to sell to a rival, but fact is if the player wants to leave there is no point in hanging around. He's at his peak as a player and just signed a long term deal, so his value will never be higher.
Great to see Levy and the club doing all our transfer business early as usual to avoid early season jitters... oh wait, hang on
Two facts. If : 1. a player does not want to leave 2. the club are not attempting to force the player out there is nothing doing. So which of the above do you believe (not) to be the case ?? All I do know is that if Walker is going (irrespective of which of the above is true) , Levy is going to rinse Citeh.
