Could be worse: Ephialtes of Trachis is saying we should sign Toni Kroos this summer. Kroos is on over £200k a week at Los Ladrones.
Based on various FM games, Los Ladrones paid him £62k p/w, while at Spurs he was on £45k p/w - although he likely had a ton of bonuses in his Spurs contract.
Proportionately, that would still be 150K/week for Kroos. That will not happen at the moment at Spurs with the current revenues and squad pay structure.
You guys think Walker is definitely off to Man city? Odds of him staying now out to 5/1, but wonder what the fans think?
There are rumours of a bust up, but nobody really knows. He's been rotated and there's some suggestion that he wasn't happy about it, but it's extremely normal for Pochettino. Our fullbacks are always used like that during periods where there are lots of games, but he did miss some big ones.
Would be a bad move for him i think especially how Pep will have him exposed. I do think there are some legs to the story though, the fact that Walker didn't start any of the final games and missed a few in between. Could argue the final games didn't mean anything but Poch was putting out full strength sides
I think he'd fit Guardiola's system well, but their squad would need other reinforcements, too. They've let a bunch of players go today though, so they'll have space. Walker played against West Ham, but then had to be subbed late on. He basically missed a week with what was claimed to be an ankle injury, IIRC. The others were down to rotation, which Pochettino always does when we've got a lot of games and the fullbacks are fit. He literally swapped Walker and Trippier for about a dozen starts and would've done the same with Rose and Davies, but for injury. It wouldn't shock me if he was to leave, but some of the evidence that people are using isn't different to last season. Levy would be strongly against selling to a competitor too, especially one that wouldn't sell to us. Iheanacho's agent killed rumours of a transfer to Spurs recently for that exact reason. Someone like Bayern might be more of an issue.
Throw Costa and Sanches in and they have a deal! Hey, someone in the Premier League has to have players called that next season...
Wilfrid Zaha has signed a new deal with Palace. Although he could have brought paceto our squad, there's a lack of intelligence to his game that means he wasn't worth anything like the amount of money that Palace would want for him. A bullet dodged to my mind.
Perhaps. I just hope this doesn't mean we now do something stupid and sign Ross Barkley. Talking of whom, didn't Koeman say he'd be thrown out onto the street if he hadn't signed a contract by Monday?
Barkley is a fixer upper, there's no doubt. However, he's a better footballer than Zaha. Mauricio Pochettino could........but it's a gamble the size of Barkley's backside.
The agent of Kelechi Iheanacho has ruled out a move to Spurs for his client, but says a move to West Scam is possible. Iheanacho needs to get himself a new agent.
To be fair, if hes going to sit on the bench (no way is he getting in ahead of Kane) he might as well do it for big money at City. So if he does move he's only going to do it if he's got a good chance of playing a lot of football. At yours, he will have to wait for his opportunity and that might be a long time as Poch doesn't really rotate the front 3 at all
There's plenty of rotation in our front three, considering four players were regular starters in those three spots.
Poch rotates them a fair bit. Even Sissoko got a few starts this season and he isn't even a professional footballer. The two contributing factors that give the impression of a lack of rotation were definitely Lamela's season-long absence and Janssen simply not being up to scratch. Left us with a lack of options that Poch clearly wasn't banking on when the season started.
