Is there a more deserving recipient of the Almighty Sis' great talents? Seems like a win-win to me - significant over-payment and depreciation of their squad all wrapped up in a bundle, tied with a lovely blue bow
Shanchez has been named in Ajax's 19 man squad for their Europa match tomorrow. Safe to say the deal is not as close as has been reported?
Maybe. There's no real reason not to register him, though. They can only pick 18 players anyway, I'd have thought.
That's not necessarily a major issue. You can play in Europa for one side and then play for another in the CL. That's even if he does play of course.
Powerspurs reckons that any player involved in these qualifier games are not UEFA cup-tied with that club should they then move to another club involved in the CL/EL group stages.
We're still some distance apart from making a deal with Ajax for Sanchez. One source says everything has been agreed but the add-on fees, another says we're 8 million short of what Ajax is asking. My forecast is a 60% chance of deadline day chicken.
I agree on the first bit but sissoko I'd even buy a tandem and cycle from bucks to tottenham and deliver him personally to the chavs
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40941482 The follow up article to Jenas' comments on MOTD. Far more balanced and reasonable than he came across and he makes some good points. And he references the 'I' word
The Foyth saga ... The suggested current state of play is that PSG are prepared to offer a far higher transfer/wage deal, but the boy is very keen to come to Spurs to be coached by Pochettino.
I don't think he ever did. The papers wanted him to want the player, as did the Hoffenheim chairman (who was quoted as saying that if a PL side came in for him, £13m would be a more reasonable price tag). But there was nothing concrete from our side - just as there has been nothing concrete about any player other than Diop and Sanchez. Nothing but the sound of silence. They say of Daniel Levy that before he became chairman of Spurs, he was the head of an order of Carmelite Nuns.
It hasn't actually been announced yet, but it could be personal preference or he could be a starter there, but not at Spurs. We might not have even been in for him in the first place.
Because his chairman was making it up to try and get more money from Dortmund and nobody else was in for him?
