A 200 year lease is in essence freehold though that's the point, and it'll have renewal options anyway, not that it's likely it'll still be being used in 200 years like.

    It's hair splitting

I think we've all been having a laugh about the climate change malarkey but in truth because of the waterside location a study has to be done which we all know how it will come out.

No it isn't mate. Don't forget we're talking about leasehold on land, not property. Leasehold interest [which is what's happening here] is the opposite of freehold interest. Anyway you're right in that it's not worth debating the finer points of it. In essence you won't ever own the land and the stadium won't belong to you for at least 40 years which is really the only point I was making when I said Joe has been very clever in this deal.

They should make it seaworthy - think of the touring potential.

Spurs new 61k stadium is now on track to cost £750m

How do Everton fans still believe they'll get a state of the art 50k stadium on a dock site for £300m?

In reality does it matter to the average fan how much the build cost is as long as the ticket prices are affordable?

My worry for them is simply about ownership and autonomy of the stadium which seems to be slipping them by.

They're already looking at 40 years of debt so the idea they're going to challenge for top 4 with that around their neck is a #joke

They haven't stopped to consider anything properly, so #desperate for good news that they're ignoring all the warning signs

    All for 9800 extra seats

A new stadium will be a massive boost for them, you can't honestly deny them this helping of good news with what they've had to put up with.

There's a lot of gobby fans on fan forums, twitter and the like putting out as much mis-information as they're claiming their red counterparts are doing. I know a good few decent blues and like all us scousers, families are split red/blue anyway, so I'm enjoying the banter as it's not often they have any news never mind something this big <ok>

Nowhere near. The closest water would be the Rhine.

Following you lot is really tricky - i have no idea who is right. But Moshiri will not be out to feck this up. BK has Everton in his blood. Whatever happens with the ground i am sure the plan is not to feck Everton over (Unless Joe's a red <laugh>)
The ground will be great for the city, wish it all the best. Sure this underwater **** is made up too - and even so when did Everton move to Goodison? Is it not plausible that by the time the water rises and engulfs the docks Everton will create a new home in another 150 years time.
Heres to a great derby - lets show the ****ing rest the country how we do it in merseyside :emoticon-0165-muscl:emoticon-0165-muscl:emoticon-0165-muscl<cheers><cheers><cheers>
