terry, lampard and drogba systematically got rid of managers. they probably held cheslea back in the last 2000s IMO.

They got shut of mourinho first time no matter what they say, grant, anchelotti, mr di matteo, etc.

city certinly got a few sacked too.

lets face it gerrard and carragher did for a couple in their time too.

Lyon v Roma looks a good tie. Rest are meh. Not many high quality teams left in it this year. Think money would be on one of united Lyon and Roma.

 

Utd have lucked out there. Last season they got knocked out by us in the last 16.

Look at the state of those teams. Just when the Europa league was looking a bit more 'elite'..... Although us getting to the final may have had a hand in that judgement

IMO theres a lot of money gone on already and that looks like a piss easy one to win. I think basically if they don't win it they should be ashamed.

In fact they should just stop playing in the league to ensure the fixutres don't hurt them in thier final quest... play the kids in the league and just win this cup and you are golden

 

That was Jurgen's plan for us last season, especially towards the end when we played Swansea and Southampton. That went well. If you remember, the argument was that we didn't really have a deep and strong enough squad for that to be effective - two transfer windows later, and we still have nothing like a squad that can be safely rotated to overcome fourth tier teams in the cup games, let alone Championship sides. I look at the likes of Unitard, City and Chelsea (and even Arsenal, to a degree) with envy on this score. And we don't seem to be getting any better.

Of course we are ****, there's just too many Shambolic edwards and rogers signings to be shut off in this period.

I'd contend were barely have 14 players now plus kids but that should get a bit better next year.. maybe 17 Players?

Sakho's first start in around 10 months and shows more composure than the rest of our defence.

 

Sakho had a great game and helps palace win and clean sheet.
