Seems like the team enabled Max to overtake earlier on understanding he might have to give place back if he could not over take.
Max interviewed and said that he was gaining so no reason to let Carlos pass. Carlos said team wanted to let him have a go at passing Chico and if not successful he would let Max back. Carlos had newer tyres. Team now say Max did correct thing!!!!

For the sake of a point or two Max has shown he isn't a team player, not the best idea when you are racing for the junior team.
Verstappen has certainly looked the stronger driver as the season has gone on. He has definitely left a marker with his defiance of the teams request. Am sure it will be brushed aside because he is young, those hormones will still be bouncing around, but Verstappen looks to have a very good future so I think he can get away with it on this occasion as it was so late in the race. Different story if say it had been done in the earlier part of a race.
Yep, possibly worsened the team's result for his own gain. I could understand it if it was for third, but for eighth seems a bit pointless. They're nine points behin Lotus and 28 behind Force India (would be 24 if Sainz had passed Perez). Could be worth a lot of money come the end of the season.
