Into the penultimate turn of the 2015 season, a back to back world champion, a seemingly "neglected" number 2, a young German with fire in his eyes battle for pride and dignity as the sun sets on the 66th Formula One Season. Will Vettel hold onto 2nd, will Kimi fight off his younger compatriot for 4th? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Number of times held 43 First held 1972 Most wins (drivers) France Alain Prost (6) Most wins (constructors) United Kingdom McLaren (12) Circuit length 4.309 km (2.677 mi) Race length 305.909 km (190.067 mi) Laps 71 Tyres: Soft and Medium LIVE ON THE BBC (TIMES-GMT) FP1-12PM FP2-4PM SP3-1PM Q-4PM R-4PM 10 Points: di Fredsta! 9 Points: DHCanary, 8 Points: El_Bando, dhel, happyal, jonnybaws, ched999uk, 7 Points: exfat, SgtBhaji, Pie!, 6 Points: Dell Boy, Max Whiplash, EternalMSC, St. Slicks of Stoneham, dicostu333, 5 Points: eddie_squidd, PaulK, 4 Points: fevriul, 3 Points: ErnieBecclestone, Paco Montoya, 2 Points: StGeordie, Smithers, TheJudeanPeoplesFront, Eat Sleep Watch F1 Repeat, 51LV3R8RR04, BrightLampShade,Quagmireuk, 1 Point: BojackHCAFCman, TomTom94, allsaintchris, Mystic Nutmeg, cosicave, taeleon, St. LewisFTW, smhbcfc, WestCoastBoogaloo, Random92, ForzaBianchi, SpacePhoenix
I'm not sure on this one, that long up hill straight along with the altitude surely has to favour the Merc engine, but the bumpy nature of the track and infield section must give Ferrari and RB hope. We didn't really see if Ferrari could have pushed Merc in Mexico but they did at times seem to have the pace. Weather could be a factor too.
Yeah, you'd normally have to go with Mercedes (as ever), but there aren't many high speed corners so their aero won't have the advantage that it normally does. I think Vettel could spring a surprise.
This was the race last year when Rosberg went fastest in every single session, and coming off the back of a "dominant" (he had more pace if he needed it) win at Mexico, he'll be high in confidence, but I've went with the easy option of Hamilton. If DHC copies me, then I will be sure to have the most points by the end of the year!
I thought I'd have to wait til the last minute to vote to go opposite to you, but you've solved that issue for me. I think I've voted Hamilton in every race so far, but Rosberg for me this time.
Would like a nice dry Friday and Saturday.. Then mixed conditions for the race... Will be between the Mercs and maybe Ferrari of Vettel for the win.. Not sure RedBull will be able to pull back the deficit in sectors 1 and 3 in sector 2.. Williams should go well, FI and Lotus may be in with a shout.. Can't discount the RedBull Jnr team... One things for Certain, McHonda will be no where to be seen.. again!
This is not Hamilton's greatest circuit, I think Rosberg could do it here, but I'm going for Vettel as I'd love to see him overhaul Rosberg for 2nd in the championship. Would set things up nicely for next year. Plus I believe he deserves it more than Rosberg.
Having said that, I voted Vettel in the last race and he had probably the worst race I have ever seen him have, so it appears my vote is the kiss of death.
Friday and Saturday, weather looks to be iffy... Sunday looks dry.. Could have a mixed up grid to start the race... Don't care who wins, I want a decent race up front and hopefully the chance to see it.. Bernie's pissing me off with the lack of coverage.. A few times the last couple of races, there's only be a second between the front two and we get pics of Alonso getting lapped by a Sauber.. FFS!!
