I am going with Mensah and Brown. This probably contradicts all of my other choices but had they been injury free they could have been immense. Saying that, had they been injury free they probably wouldn't have been at the club.
I chose Johnny Evans because he was 'a cut above' what we'd had for a while and he was fantastic for us, and Jody Craddock because he was the best centre half that we'd had since, perhaps, Dave Watson, and they were both consistently good Some of the others in the list were consistently injured, which is a blinking good reason for not picking them . . . . John Mensah, for example, was a fantastic player, but he was 'always' injured, and Wes Brown was similarly injury-prone, so neither could be even considered because of this extremely important factor Emerson Thome was a very strong defender, but I remember thinking at the time that he was the only Brazilian in the world that couldn't pass a ball, so he's 'out of the equation' too Danny Collins was good, and consistent, but not outstanding . . . . and he should have played for Brazil, upfront and Steve Bould was very good, and consistent, for Arsenal, but he was well past his best when he came to S.A.F.C. Lastly Lamine Kone . . . . he's a ****
I loved Steve Bould, but he rarely played Cradock was unlucky to miss out Jonny Evans was an easy choice - class act. I went for Wes Brown (his only vote thus far). He was with us for 4 years. One full year was lost through injury, he was cr@p in his final year, but (IIRC) he was good for the initial 2 years
Would help if I had actually voted Luckily for me the post is best two centre backs not best two fit centre backs!!
Had to be Thome and Craddock for me. Thome was just class and I remember JC just being immense in some games!
The Upper Deck has voted for Jonny Evans. As stated earlier in the thread, that vote will be removed.
I'm sure he's a wum, I'm sure he's not one of us. He's always controversial and brings disruption to the board. He's quite good at it to be fair. He's a mag, imo
A strange post definitely but I'm still not sure personally matey!! Same with Monty, it's almost like it's too obvious at times, but then some things he says make me doubt that as well because he mentions specifics which would be too in depth to be a WUM. Anyway, looks a close one for the second spot between Evans and Thome.
I'm comfortable with my decision about Upper Deck mate. I've witnessed quite a bit with him and I've just ran out of tolerance for the likes of him and Monty now. Scores are tied so it's gonna be a close one.
