We have had a £40M bid rejected for Gylfi Siguardsson. Swansea now want £50M Do we pay it or walk away?
When though? Surely it'd have come out last week or whenever it supposedly happens? I smell a rat. They can keep the **** at anywhere near £50m
Everton supposedly bid £32m so we bid £40m to blow them out of the water, as I suggested we would when it came down to it. I would pay the £50m because he'll be worth the extra £20m over the period of his contract with the difference he'll make. We can more than afford it so just offer them £45m plus add-ons if we qualify for Europe. If we do he'll be worth every penny.
He's 28 and would have little or no resale value at the end of a 4 year contract, he wants £135k a week, so @£50m he'd cost £78m in total over 4 years, good value? You're off your cake if you believe that represents value for money
I don't care about resale, what he'll do for us on the pitch during those years will make it worth it. £50m to the owners is nothing, small change.
When you're worth £3.7bn and your wealth is rising hundreds of millions per quarter, £50m is fook all.
Screams of Nicky Maynard. Taking the piss really. Sounds like he really wants to go to Everton so at least it's pushing the price up for them at the very least.
Yet at the end of the day, Everton and Leicester have got nothing more than a failed bid each. Dont think either club would give him £135k p/w. Doesnt matter if we can afford it or not. Hes not a player that deserves 20%+ more wages than the next highest earner.
Which they won't, not a chance even if there was something untoward, which I highly doubt given the way they've shown to conduct themselves. They have a very close relationship with the King so they're as protected as they can get and certainly won't be found guilty of anything.
I don't think it sounds like he wants to go to Everton, I don't think he's bothered and wants a bigger club, a top six club which he won't get. If he was even slightly interested in going to Everton then he'd make noises but he's not arsed so I don't see a preference for them over us.
