At least Jason Cundy is being realistic about his relative value to us ... http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...ea-bid-Jamie/story-28162764-detail/story.html ... still wouldn't sell mind
Don't know how we can stop him moving if they bid - if a club is prepared to spend £35M on a striker, you can be sure that they really want him. We are being linked with strikers so this is a possibility that the club has foreseen,
If they played 2 up front then maybe i'd believe this, but theres no way he'll be in front of Costa (although he should be), unless they would sell Costa to pay for it. Even i don't think we'll get £35m! Then again, if a club are crazy enough to pay it ...
.. they paid £50m for Torres ... the money isn't really a factor ... it boils down to whether we would be prepared to sell. ...I
Same price Liverpool paid a few years back for Andy Carroll. Prices massively inflate in January, it's not nearly as ridiculous as it sounds!
It is only the Mirror, but worth a mention nonetheless... Chelsea interested, £20m... Never in a million years... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-eye-transfer-raids-jamie-6908119
Dutchman was far more reserved when asked if he would make a move for Vardy in the winter window. Asked if Vardy was on his shopping list, Van Gaal said: "That's none of your business." Tells a story.
Chelsea and Manchester United discover how much Leicester are demanding for Jamie Vardy LEICESTER have slapped a £30m asking price on Jamie Vardy.
Where's that twat who kept trolling us when we first brought Vardy, having an orgasm about us spending £1M on a non league player. Sure would love to find him and shove his pathetic trolling right up his Arse!
It's a difficult decision when a striker comes from nowhere to relative stardom... Do you cash in while he's hot hot hot or hope it continues for seasons to come?! Eg: Michael Ricketts at Bolton scoring for fun and gets an England call up and is llinked with a big money move to Spurs. Bolton refuse to let the lad move and the season after he continues to score albeit not as many. He doesn't get another sniff for England and eventually gets transferred to Mid'boro where he does absolutely nothing (4 goals in 38 games). Signs for Leeds and fails to score a league goal all season (25 games) He then got loaned out to various clubs before securing his big move to Southend who then binned him after about a month. Should have Bolton took the money and ran ??? I think so ! We had a similar big offer (£15 mil) for Kevin Phillips (Spurs / Villa) when he scored for fun. We said NO and 18 month later he was on his way to Southampton for a pittance (£3.25 M) Not saying it'll happen to Vardy but if an offer of £20+ million comes in.... What do you do?? Good luck for the rest of the season.... I hope you beat all the teams around us (inc Chelsea!!!)
... personally I wouldn't sell him because he is key to the way we play at this point in our 'evolution' ...
Spoken like a fan.... And not the one putting the money in!!! I agree like... But if a bid of £30M comes in... The money men won't listen to the fans
I guess we could take the risk seeming he only cost £1m, if he gets us about 6 places higher than we would have been, he will have given us a fair bit of extra money for our final position, not as much as a transfer, but still ... I certainly wouldn't begrudge our owners if they did sell, but it will take alot of work to find a striker in his counter-attacking pacey style.
.. our Thai owners have publicly stated that they want to challenge for Europe in 5 years and estimate that it will take an investment of 180 M to achieve. .. we are ahead of the game. .. and haven't sold any key players under their ownership. .. we have always been a selling club and I've accepted that as a reality. .. but I do feel that the times have changed ... if a player wants to move that's a different thing .. don't expect us to sell just because someone comes in with a big bid ..we no longer need to sell to balance the books .. best squad in my lifetime...
..my old man took me to my first game at the start of the 1969/70 season .. been some highs and lows ... more lows tbf ... this squad is overall the best and most exciting I have seen at the club in my lifetime...
