2nd time this season we've got out of jail with a gift penalty when we weren't looking dangerous, Oxford being the first.
I would love to sit down with Slade and ask him what a manager who has managed for over 20 years is hoping to achieve with that midfield, and that style of football. If Lookman or Holmes get injured we could well go down. We are that bad
The best thing about yesterday was FHB and I meeting up with #brb before that game because the #cafc performance was sh1t !! What Skipper and Lookman were trying to do in the first half??? God only knows, swapping as left winger and a sort of #10 role??? I don't know??? BUT IT DIDN'T WORK!!!
I've never known the away fans so quiet. Even when taunted by Gills fans (Can you hear etc) there was hardly a response. It was as though it was the Upper West. The reason- it's Slade's style of football. He knows how to get us organised at set-pieces, and when the opposition have the ball, so we're not so porous any more. Trouble is, that's where it ends. For his own good Lookman should leave, Slade and Nugent are OK with L1 journeymen, that's all. Watching Slade's football is tortuous, well done Mike and Vol who have suffered all the games.
Lookman was getting stick from our fans for the first time yesterday. I think the problem was his defensive work rate which left the lumbering Fox exposed as a result. As the players went off after that shambolic first half they all got abuse, Lookman turned and gave some back. He needs to learn that goes with being a pro. Sad to see the decline in Jackson these days - definitely a case of one season on top of another season too far. His legs have totally gone. It's like playing with 10 men.
Agree about Jacko- the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Time for him to go off and learn his trade as a manager so he's ready to take over Charlton when the Roland sells up or dies, whichever comes first.
I think Kevin Foley will come in next week. We definitely missed his creative ability in midfield yesterday.
The OS interview Slade says Crofts had a really good game ....... I didn't even realise he was playing
Should we play the pikies again next season I will sit with them. That stand and facilities were a disgrace, thank f*** it was not raining throughout the game. Still at least my coat would have kept me dry!
Come on, AHLL. You must remember just before half time when I remarked that he's done his first forward pass of the game?
Looked dodgey at one stage re the weather as it started to rain thankfully only a short shower. Those facilities are worse than awful and bordering on dangerous. The stewarding policing was also rank in the ground. After the game what would of been a straight walk to the stationwith rival fans avoiding each other became a long hike and flashpoint as police directed cafc fans to turn right and into on coming Gills fans producing minor skirmishes . It could of been really serious luckily it wasn't but potential for major violence was there due to police tactics.
Priestfield is the worst away ground we have yet visited in League 1 - it made Bury look like the Emirates.
