Tell us what you know about TTIP. There seems to ba an awful lot of concern about a trade deal, which particular details bother you?
Oh, I dunno Cyc, a couple of Imodiums, you'd have been alright. The B17 pilots never had this medical accessory. You know, apart from asparagus which I detest, it's the rhubarb season in this part of the world, and I LOVE rhubarb. Sweetened, unsweetened, in a pie, with custard, I don't care, really do eat my fill of this wonderful stuff, and, but, erm....must dash................... please log in to view this image
The last unelectable Labour leader had the current unelectable Labour leader visit his constituency as part of the “Stronger In” tour. This is Leave EU’s take on the new Ed Stone: please log in to view this image I would have thought they could have updated the year on the flag... unless that just indicates how far in the past Miliband lives.
Not sure I see much of a ‘lay’ opportunity here, Ron. With Remain quoted at 1/6 the polls (if anybody believes them) would have to consistently show the Leave side gaining a considerable lead before the odds drifted to 1/4 just to break even.
Just like the Leave campaign are making all the noise in the EU Referendum debate while the Remain campaign rely on a dodgy dossier of forecasts, all the noise being made about TTIP (the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership) is being made by those opposed to the deal: Stop TTIP War On Want: What is TTIP? The Garuniad TTIP Index – pick an article! What is TTIP? And six reasons why the answer should scare you For balance, the official European Commission waffle can be found here: TTIP
From what I have seen on the Andrew Marr programme and heard on Pienaar’s Politics, we are heading towards a situation where there will be no major political party fit to govern the country (some of us might argue it has been that way for years). The Labour Party have a leader who cannot even command the support of a quarter of his Parliamentary members, opposed his predecessor at almost every opportunity and got the job thanks to the Militants and the Trotskyites rejoining the Party at £3 a head. Their most electorally successful leader Tony Blair thinks that Corbyn should never be elected. The Conservative Party have reverted back to the Eurosceptic infighting that destroyed John Major’s government over Maastricht and saw middle England vote for Tony Blair. If the Remain camp do not win the EU Referendum by a margin, Cameron will find himself knived in the back (like Brown did to Blair) as the malcontents are already planning a vote of no confidence – that could lead to a snap General Election, where nobody will want to vote!
Maybe it is time to change the electoral system in the UK? Often when they have the situation described above in Germany we end up with one sort of coalition or another and that tends to (slowly) break down some barriers and pre-conceptions. The UK system of "either Labour or Conservative" leaves little room for new ideas from other areas of the political spectrum and comes across as severely outdated. For example, the Green Party in Germany have made valuable contributions to both local and national government as part of coalitions, something that would be impossible under the UK electoral system (I think, but stand to be corrected).
When they formed the coalition here in 2010, one of the conditions that the LibDems had was that there be a poll about changing to a proportional representation form of election. When that was put to the electorate, it was (not surprisingly) soundly rejected. The view was that there are too many countries with PR where the major parties are propped up by very small minority parties who are only interested in a few controversial issues. I think that one of the examples given was Italy. The Green Party are the current student protest vote (they dumped the LibDems when Clegg reneged on the ‘No Tuition Fees’ manifesto commitment in order to go into coalition) and they are too far to the left to ever break into the mainstream here (currently got one MP in Brighton and their Aussie leader is quitting). If we had PR, UKIP would have a load of seats in Parliament as they were second in lots of places in 2015 and either Labour or the Conservatives would have to have done a deal with them (or in Labour’s case the SNP). No way I can see us doing away with first past the post. The Official Monster Raving Loony Party could have the deciding vote rather than the Unofficial ones!
Is ‘Europe’ starting to get desperate? Verdun: France and Germany mark centenary with EU unity call Let us use something that happened a hundred years ago as a case for less democracy and governance by an undemocratic elite. Europe and the European Union are two totally different things – when will these morons get it?
This should be the Lib Dem's chance to shine, but they also have imploded. Shame really. I think a coalition of some sort would be quite welcome. Not sure how the electoral arithmatic is likely to pan out though. Both the Labour and the Tory parties are effectively internal coalitions anyway, always have been.

An opinion of Boris Johnson by one Heathcote Williams. Bloody hell! http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-e...erating-attack-on-boris-johnson-a7054891.html
I have seen that advert for Paddy Power featuring all the famous Jocks in the World (i.e. The Krankies) betting against England at football. Surely there must be somebody from on here in the cast of thousands of extras. Come on, somebody on here admit it – you got paid in deep fried Mars bars to take the p*** out of the Sassenachs.
I find Jimmy Krankie incredibly disturbing, she is now a 69 year old lady dressing up as a schoolboy, in their heyday it could have been argued they could pass it off even if a little odd, but now it just looks atrocious.
How frightening would this be for the victim? With signs all over the place, some people still think it'll never happen to them. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-...in-croc-attack-daintree-far-north-qld/7457878
