Not hugely knowledgeable on greyhounds but have fairly recently (last 5/6 months) been getting in to it (not really the betting side but just watching - altho i do find hell of a lot of odds on favourites do win- but don't tend to bet on odds on unless they are in doubles/trebles and only do for some intrest) but with some recent performances e.g Roxholme Magic over 900m seems like a different dog compared to others and is a joy to watch class! Anyway tonight is the start of the Derby heats (does make me laugh that they have the same names as the horse races - Arc, Derby , champion hurdle etc...) Have had two very small ew Ante Post bets - DOMINO STORM @ 100/1 - altho hard for a bitch to win apparently watched her a few times recently and have been really impressed with her. Likewise with JAYTEE SPARTACUS 28/1 was runner up in the puppy Derby and has looked stronger than he did so looks a decent price (runs Tnite too) Anyone else have any fancies??
I wonder if Timeform are any good at greyhounds Timeform Greyhound SmartPlays: Thursday May 6 CALCO FLYER (Trap 1, 19:25) is enjoying a fine spell on the open race scene of late, adding another faultless display to his tally at Sheffield last week, and he is fancied to get us off to a flyer in Heat 1 of this year's Greyhound Derby. Mark Wallis' charge wasn't seen to best effect over C&D two starts ago (crowded early) but still managed to post a more than respectable 28.60 when finishing third. He looks to hold obvious claims of leading up the inside, and with his recent form looking solid, he can continue in good form. Heat 10 takes place at 21:48 and we're hopeful DROOPYS TURIN (Trap 1) can build on what was an impressive display in a C&D trial last week. The high-class Monmore raider has done nothing but improve around this venue, his latest 28.56 a solid performance in anyone's book. The son of Derby winner Blonde Snapper will need a good break on the inside, but in the hope he can turn handy, he is expected to utilise his position to good effect. Irish raider Mucho Macho Man is fancied to give him most to think about, particularly if breaking in front. We wait until tonight's final heat (22:35) for our final selection, but hopefully it won't be in vain with BALLYMAC DARRAGH (Trap 5) fancied to dispel two luckless efforts of late and regain the winning thread. The Perry Barr raider is a very classy operator when the cards do fall his way, and he was noted making eye-catching progress before being brought to a stand still behind Ballymac Shirley over C&D two starts ago. His draw this evening may well suit the son of Ninja Jamie that little bit better, and he is fancied to put his best foot forward and resume winning ways.
Not really something I bet on or pay much attention to but funnily enough I got a tip for Domino Storm at 50s from a friend of a friend who's big into his dogs
Oh Snap, same as you guys. Haven't got a clue about the dogs but got a few tips, only small stakes. Droopys Roddick 16/1 Coolavanny Pat 50/1 Diego Flight 66/1 Domino Storm 40/1
JAYTEE SPARTACUS won tonight very well now in to 20's but next round he will probably get bumped at the first bend and that will be him done
Bloke I work with swears by this site for horse racing tips I've looked a few times and they seem to do well with their Nap
My brother is big into dogs, has them with Erie gaskin and mark Wallis. Not sure if they have any Derby dogs this year as we don't talk much but good luck there is a lot of value at big prices if you know what your doing.
Swift Fantasy is a Kiwi Greyhound Ron. In NZ and Oz, we have 8 dogs per race. Here she is again. In the blue rug.
